Great weather today so it got a bath. Also put on the door edge protector from Toyota. I think look great and perfectly color matched, they blend right it. Should be standard. Put those Go Rhino RB 20’s on last week. They are growing on me. Didn’t think they would be so wide up front. Kinda wished I got the Dominators.

I think it can be both. It originally comes smooth matte finish, but it leaves fingers prints and scratches. I wanted to use it as protection, but it also gave it a unique style, so I bought the tailgate spoiler along with the tailgate applique. I had them both Line-X - finished in smooth black gloss. The coating protects it from finger print smears and scratches. This allows me to close the tailgate by lifting the spoiler when it's down. It's mounted by double sided adhesive tape, so it's not permanent. Product is by Air Design. They have a full complete kit on the Toyota Tundra. Hope this helps. Thanks.

My truck came with both the door and fender edge in black. I thought it was the ugliest thing you can put on a car/truck. I was going to take it off, but after getting it lifted and putting on new tires/wheels, it just blended in with the truck. Sometimes I forget it's there. Since the color theme is Quicksand and black, I decided to leave it. Oh well, at least it'll help with door dings.
I was also looking at the RB20 two weeks ago. But after long research and videos, I decided to go with Dominator D6.

I just installed some RB20 Slim running boards on my wife's Trail Boss, just a bit narrower than the regular RB20, but I also flipped them around and put the wider end towards the rear of the cab. She didn't like the slider look, she liked the look of these.

Anyone want to make a better, but stock looking head unit out of, well, stock head unit? I'm thinking whether my next hobby project could be such a conversion. Raspberry Pi as a core, LCD+touch controller reusing the stock display, some RPI external audio shield, DSP processor, GPS receiver and a bunch of control software to retain factory buttons functionality + UI. Would be awesome if there will be another pair of Linux C/C++ hands...

Sounds like a fun project but I haven't written any C or C++ code in over a decade. All I've done recently is help my son debug some Mathcad code.

Yeah, something like that, but more stock looking, more hi-fi, no closed source code.

I was thinking of getting a broken Kenwood Excelon on ebay for cheap, fixing it and mating to the OEM display, but though it runs on Linux, it is pretty much as isolated from the public as they could. Also did you know that when Kenwood headunit boots into debug mode, it plays "Allah-Allah"? ;) Anyways, I can buy ready to use components, like RPI, sound card, DSP, LCD+touch controller, solder it together and program, so why mess with proprietary solutions?

While the tundra was getting a front diff seal replaced, I was tackling this on our travel trailer.

For anyone not aware, lots of manufacturers use plastic bushings on the leaf springs. This is after 2 seasons and about 6k miles in total. Replacing with a wet bolt kit which includes brass sleeves.

Parking enforcement added a little accent to my truck as well as the person’s beside mine. Zooming in won’t help alleviate confusion. Black permits only.
