A friend of mine at work retired and is moving back to Greece so he offered to sell me his 2004 Prerunner for @ $3K. It has 200K miles but it runs well and had had all maint. done on it. I am thinking about getting it for just a back and forth to work truck and around town grocery-getter. If I get in an accident wouldn't really care if it is damaged and I would save my Tundra for trips and camping. It needs new tires so I think maybe just a set of the Discount Tire house brand special AT's would be good enough. I think I would paint the fender flares / bumper black and then spray the body with tan-colored bed-liner. Put some liability insurance on it and call it good.

200K is just broken-in for a first gen Tacoma. You can barely buy a nice mountain bike for 3k anymore, so it sounds like you did okay.
