Back in October I had my A.R.E CX Evolve canopy installed, I chose this canopy since it has the frameless window w/ keyless entry. Well, I am now about to have that window replaced for a THIRD time in a few weeks. The bonding agent they use on the hinges has separated from the glass each time and the window has fallen off. Anyone else have this issue / heard of this being a problem? If it happens again I may end up asking for my money back and moving to a different brand. This is getting ridiculous.

I’ve had 2 ARE Overlands which I thought was based on the CX and never had any issues.

This most recent time, all parts came undone that are connected to the glass. The first time it was just one hinge came undone. One thing I have been able to connect this with has been the colder weather. Maybe the epoxy or bonding agent the use isn’t holding up due to the moisture / how cold the window is getting during the winter. But if that was the case it would seem more people would have an issue. It’s getting a little ridiculous now that it’s happened for a third time and they are fighting on giving me a refund. They will only replace the glass.

I know it’s not a vehicle, but you could check lemon laws in your state to see if any apply.

Can't believe it's only glued on like that. Should be attached to the frame (probably frameless so not an option) or bolted through the window... Seems guaranteed to fail eventually..

Yep!.... now on my third back window too... same thing.. epoxy not holding the hinges or struts. Got the cap in July.. my Dealer swears he’s never seen this happen before... The second replacement window only last three closings before it failed.. this last one has been on for 2 months..B5325425-A3C4-4B95-9761-86125CF94FFD.jpg

I'm looking at buying this exact shell for my truck. Have either of y'all had the issues with the back glass resolved?

That is very good to know, never thought that could be a problem, had my LEER x100R for over 2 years and never had any problems.

Third fix (replacement) was a charm…. Haven’t had an issue since…(2 Yrs)… I would get the CX if your concerned with security for stuff in the back though… single handle seems pretty easy to break into.. but i like the single handle more than i care about the stuff i in the back… so… Good luck

Great! Happy to hear that! I'm not concerned about the handle. I figure if someone wants in bad enough they will just smash the glass. Was briefly considering doing contractor doors, but I'm going to be using it more so for camping and like to be able to see out.

Well. I decided to order the CX Classic instead of the Revo. My local dealer talked me out of the Revo because they are still getting 4-5 claims a week for broken rear window hinges, even on the new ones. I'm in Texas so the failures my be due to the climate here? Anyway, I think ill be happy with the Classic. I tend to choose function over aesthetics. Should be arriving in 3-6 weeks. Can't wait!!
