I am looking for a soft sided day cooler for trips and day excursions.

I have a Yeti full size and it works well for our camping trips but it was not cheap. If Yeti soft sided ones are the best then so be it but I imagine there are a lot of other brands now that are just as good.

I am just looking for something that will hold a few drinks, some sandwiches, cheese and meat sticks and that I can put on the back floor of the truck.

I've had great luck with the Walmart Ozark Trail kind, use it at the beach all the time and my drinks stay cold for 4-5 hours on the beach in the sun. It's also about 4 years old now, so I'm sure they're better since then.

I have a yeti and an RTIC. the Yeti is a better cooler...but only by a little, like 3 days of cool instead of 2.5. For a few drinks and sandwiches the RTIC will work.

My cousin has the Yeti, I have the RTIC and the Yukon. I like the Yukons zipper the best. All hold ice fairly well, especially when iced down the day before.

I have an RTIC Soft Pack Cooler & I have nothing but good things to say about it. Good build quality & it definitely will keep ice for a couple days if properly pre-chilled!

I bought my mom an RTIC and it only lasted a few times before the zipper broke.

I have an Rtic soft side and it has been great.
Pro tip on the zippers: lube. Frequent lube. The zippers require silicone lube. Frequently. Not lubing will cause them to be hard to open and to bind and get damaged. Lube. Don’t forget the lube!!

Yes good tip, and prechill is a must, here’s a tip also, try salt water. It’s freezes longer than fresh water, we fill up gateraid bottles at the ocean and use those. They actually freeze the melting freshwater ice around them.

    This.

My rtic Softie is 6-8 years old or so. Still going strong. I think it’s the “30” Gets us beers, drinks for the kids, some sandwiches etc for a day on the beach. Everything is cold. Don’t even pre-chill. Some can - cutout ice packs that fit in between the cans and a couple of other slim ice packs on top are all that’s needed.
