The first round of swapping was 6k miles and 1 full year...the second round of warranty swap, which made me make the change, was 9k miles and literally another 12 months. I am keeping the Falcon rears. They are a great upgrade from stock but extreme cold climates do not work on the o-rings' seals...(-30°- -40°)...My experience with their customer service has been terrific. Yes, I was part of the group buy.

I will be selling the brand new Falcon fronts with factory 35k coils set to whatever the buyer wants this week...great shocks for non-winter-laden locations.

Gotcha so in extreme cold they don't hold up well. But in mild climates they seem fine? I remember you saying Falcon already acknowledged the Tundra line had flaws.

    Hopefully mine hold up.

Yes sir...if above 0° you're good to go, too much washing of your truck and letting sit outside can cause issues during winter climates. Also, if you live and drive in very below freezing temps and than park in a heated garage, that causes unfavorable movement (shrink, swell) of the o-rings that seal the oils in. Most will be totally fine and happy...only a few have had issues...knowing the limits is half the battle...they did represent their products well with their customer service...but Teraflex is now for sale...and most of the GB warranties expire April 13, 2023...food for thought.

Dang. That's unfortunate. Guess I'll have to keep an eye on mine. I've got a squeek I can't stand, but besides that they have been great.

I had a squeak too...finally figured out it was my LBJ needing more grease...I bought a grease syringe adapter on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Plews-05-037...=&sr=1-1-3a65484d-1c95-4bed-b564-9469fdeef107 and squeezed x3 squeezes of moly lube and it instantly went away and was SO easy to do...try it and be happier!

Today's job was to rid my console of that fake chrome that blinds me when the sun is in the right position. I used SEM 39143 black trim (rattle can) after a nice 400 grit sanding and some primer. It came out perfect.

Extremely tedious. Can only do on a hot day, when the plastic is soft. I broke half of them when removing the bumper for rust treatment. This time I broke the rest. What sucks, you don't have any access to 2 clips (only 2 I think?), so need to pull it up. And they break, of course.

This bumper asks for replacement. Especially if you take it off the pavement.

You’re gonna post all of these wonderful ‘in progress’ pictures and no pictures of the final product? For shame I tell you! I hope you like that kit. I’m eye balling it hard myself.

Gave it the first hand wash of the year. Costco carwash is $8 but it was closed today and my truck was filthy from being in Mexico last week. So many bugs.

Whatever this forum told me to do
    Re: oil filter crack

Kids were in town. So it was oil change weekend.

did the '15 4runner no issues.

did the '18 Highlander...no issues.....these are easy to do. no skid plates. usually 20 minutes.

well..I get it off the ramps and it's dripping oil. Sh1t

the damn oil filter cartridge cracked. I use all the correct tools. it had a hairline crack next to the large slot that the filter wrench notches into.

damn...now I'll spend the rest of the day trying to get the part.

well...I remembered I bought one of the metal filter housings for the Tundra a few moons ago(based on this forum's recommendation)...and have procrastinated installing it.

and you know what....it's the same!

got damn lucky and the highlander was back on the road.

    the lesson...procrastination is good.

I ordered 2 more metal filter housings..for the Tundra & 4runner. will swap them out next oil change.

Well that worked out well for you. I believe all the housings are the same. It's the perforated cylinder that varies in length. Did you check to ensure that part was the correct length?

I'm on the fence about whether to get one myself or switch to a standard spin-on filter with an adapter for ease of use and the lack of a back-flow valve on the cartridge filters (though apparently the TRD models have this).

Whatever this forum told me to do
it fit the Highlander perfect. it has the short filter.

the 4runner & tundra will need the center screen thing swapped, as their filters are taller. this is the reason I procrastinated on the Tundra.

Here ya go! Love the kit! Quality products for sure. I have to wait until next Tuesday for an alignment. I bought the Toytec back during the Black Friday sale. Everything went on easy enough. I’ve driven my beast a few miles and notice the difference immediately. Bumps are firm but controlled and plush, also, no front dive during stops or turns…tires next!992A8261-FE45-4551-856B-53ABC5FA0BB7.jpg78552643-2C87-42A7-86A4-D9EB017AFB99.jpg
Before I bought this kit, I read and watched everything I could. It’s over kill for what I do, but looks very cool and I gots lots of stickers! Big shout out to Toytec, JBA and Durobumps for awesome products!

Lol I wish I was able to even wash the rig. Still a few months from no more rain until it’s worth it. Just a quick power wash now and then lol

Removed the center seat so I could see what's going on with the floor and devise a plan for a console.

Looking to place an order for the grille surround. I'm wanting to retain my existing grille and sensor but eliminate the chrome surround and hood bulge (like so many others). The only option that comes up for a 2021 runs $630 but I found an option for the 2017 that is only $270. Anyone know if this is the same surround as the 2021?

Nope. That was built in and stayed with it.
I had the little camp shitter in a shower tent out at the new property while I was working out there, before there was a house. It was mostly for if the wife came out to visit while I was working, but that was rare and she never stayed long, so it never got used. I forgot about it for a while. The shower tent fell apart so I rinsed it off with the hose and threw it in the truck.
