Our pollen season was a nightmare this year. We had no real rain for weeks during the worst of it. What we got was heavy dew every morning and very light rain. What that caused at my house was the pollen turning into a almost clay like substance. We have since had major heavy rain but the pollen/clay has stuck like fucking glue to my newer BLACK metal roof and looks like crap. Hard to see in house pic but roof pitch is kinda steep. Pic shows small area cleaned by directly using pressure washer from ladder, also tried brushing but little success except for direct brushing and follow with hose. Looking for advice on not breaking my neck.
PS- no real problem with heights just a little bit worried about metal and water.

Just use wet and forget and there is no worry about actually doing any work.

granted the results are not instantaneous but it works.
I spray my cabin in the fall and come spring the siding and metal roof a quite clean.

What is your concern about the roof getting wet? It is made to get wet.

Custom bug spat pattern hood, grill & bumper. Dead Live Oak leaf collection under hood, cowl and lower fenders. Beach sand custom floor covering.
You might try a foam cannon which might reach the peaks from the gutters. Then garden hose rinse.

The metal and water concern is about traction while walking on it to get it clean. "Slick as shit" I believe the term is.
