I want to put a h or x in my Trd pro to quiet it down. It annoys me. Or Put original exhaust back on.

Would recommend. Exhaust drone is different than simply being loud - it vibrates the entire structure of the truck and you feel in through all the contact points in the cab. The resonator gets rid of that feedback completely and (in my opinion) the biggest plus, but I would say that it's quieter across the whole RPM range too.

Pay attention to the feeling in your right foot on the accelerator pedal next time you go for a drive between 1200-1500 rpm under moderate load. That goes away completely with a resonator.

I have a non-TRD, but did put on a DD exhaust. I figured why not go for those small gains and make the truck sound like it looks.

I tow heavy and often (32', 8k lbs TT).

I started with the 12" and resonator, but it became too much while towing (before and after 5.29s). It was bordering difficult to have a conversation when on Bluetooth and the 2700-3500rpm was just no fun.

After speaking with someone on this forum, I called Kieth about the issue and he had a 20" to my door in about 3 weeks. I am in love with it. More than stock at idle and low rpm, throaty but not loud under load. Zero drone. Can't wait to tow with it this season and will have first hand experience to share come mid April.

You can search my name for posts. I have video for comparison of the sound between the 2 systems. I'll attempt to capture the decibels in the cab while towing.

Pretty sure you sold me because I know there's vibrations at that range - my (I think) tailgate lock wiring in the passenger kickplate resonates with it and is super loud.

I have the standard with 20 inch mufflers too - but with a resonator in the Y and the tailpipe resonator. I second your feedback. Great tone but it’s more in the background instead of dominating the cab.

I second this. I was surprised at how much smoother OEM was after I added the tailpipe resonator.

Even with the 20 inch BAM, you can hear the exhaust more than OEM but don’t feel it - resonators doing their job.

Don’t doubt his stuff sounds good. Compare it to the Gen 3 Raptor though. The exhaust on my 23 Raptor is next level for a 6 cylinder. Sport and Baja modes sound incredible. Also has normal and quiet modes.

Yep, I’ve heard the new Raptor, sounds great! Definitely better than the 2nd gens and the Tundra in stock form. The DD system closes that gap, even compared with the new Raptor. Only thing you don’t get is 4 selectable sound modes. Pretty amazing what can be done with a V6 these days compared to 10 years ago.

Anyone made a side exit out the bedside with the pro exhaust? Don't think it would change the sound at all, just less distance to travel.

Hmm, this just shows everyone's tolerance level (and maybe hearing loss) is a little different. Did the same swap for the same reasons, just 10" to 12" instead of 12" to 20". The 10" was a little much for my wife on long pulls. The 12" is a few notches down in volume, but still has the characteristic @dirtydeeds tone, and zero drone with the resonator (I kept the longer 31" resonator referenced earlier in the thread). Still has a great sound when you get on it, but just not as loud overall. Hopefully this setup will work for our needs for the time being.

I added an H pipe to a TRD exhaust (years ago when I had it) and connecting the two banks helped with low end torque and it changed the exhaust tone.

The X will accomplish the same thing (in principle) - but Keith's execution is better than what I did.

Do you have their headers too or just catback? NA or supercharged? I’m thinking I will get the full Stainless Works set in Legend for my Magnuson application. I’m thinking the redline is likely too loud when going with the minimal cats in their headers (currently have a 8” DD stock headers and like that level of sound). How close are the dual pipes to the spare tire (vs stock single), I have a 35” in the spare area right now is why I ask.
