Hey Tundra heads! Need some advice here. I’m out in Zion, Utah with the family. Towed the travel trailer out and been on the road a week and a half. My 2017 Tundra suffered a breakdown pulling into camp today. Lost a lower control arm bolt and pulled the passenger side axle out. Tried my best to fix it with a bottle jack and my basic tools but I’m at my limit. Plus the rv campground hosts politely asked me to stop working on it. Got a tow truck coming, but have no idea where to tow it to. Hurricane, Washington and St. George are closest real towns.

Anybody know any good shops in the area who could help me get back underway? We’ve got 4 nights at the rv park, and the trailer is in a good spot. I feel like if they just tow it to a AAA shop they’ll take me over the coals and won’t know what to do with it.

You will probably do better is St. George.

@snivilous @daria any recommendations on shops?

Thank you! Looked at red Desert off road in at George. Seems legit. Also a dealership in St. George but I feel like an off road shop would be a better call.

Hey, it's been a while, but I used to hit Zion quite a bit when we lived in Vegas... I've never had to use them, but I recall seeing postings and Ads for something called Matt's Off Road Recovery. I know you don't really need "recovery", but he's been there a bit and can probably give you some recommendations.

There was also a jeep place in Hurricane called Moab 4x4 right off Hwy 9... A guy I worked with who had Jeeps used them when he had something break on him that he couldn't fix, and said they took care of him. I'm gonna find a # for them real quick for you...

Looks like 435-218-7275 for Moab 4x4

Good luck and hope you find a reasonable solution!!

thanks guys. Had it towed to Dixie off-road in St George. Tow guy said he couldn’t do the dealer because he’d have to leave it on the street. They close the gates there after hours.
I’ll report back with any updates.

I hope they get you taken care of and do so at a reasonable price....

I know vehicle troubles can definitely put a damper on a trip and for the time being your mind is going dealing w/truck issues, but it's beautiful up there this time of year and hopefully you can still enjoy it a bit. We would normally do Zion in April and in November (kinda just outside of their hectic season). If you guys have never done the Narrows, it is pretty incredible this time of year. But, you have to be careful especially if you have little ones w/you as the Narrows can experience flash flooding during April. The local outfitters stay on top of that stuff though and can really help w/planning and keeping you safe

Dixie 4x4 did me right! Replaced my P/S cv axle and sourced OEM Toyota parts to do the job. Got me back on the road in a day and a half. Thanks again for everybody who chimed in here.
