I searched and posted in a couple of old threads about how to wire some amber lights into my hood bulge and the more I ask the more confused I get as to how I should do this. How did you do yours?

I have a 2019 with halogen headlights and the LED DRLs. I would like the amber bulge lights to be on with the DRL's. The issue I am running into is that the DRL's seem to have a high and low side depending if the headlights are on or not. There is a purple + and a Red+ for the high/low DRL's.

I dont think I can connect both the high/low DRL's to the new bulge LED's without causing issues. I wonder if I could put in a relay and have the high/low trigger it or if that would feed back as well?

If not then how about putting in a one-way diode so that they could not feedback to one another?

Other ideas are just to wire in a tap-a-fuse to the IGN somewhere so they are on when the ignition is on. Or tap them into the taillight fuse under the dash

    How did you do yours?

Low beam or Tail is what I'd do.

or run a separate relay and have it on it's own switch

I finally just ended up using a tap-a-fuse and putting them on the IGN fuse in the under the hood fuse block. They are on all the time this way and no fuss. I ran the wire for them through the hood and used some wire loom and that was also easy and clean. Oh, I also ended up using amber LED button lights. I took the grill bulge off and and drilled through the plastic mesh and wired them together in series.

I have the same light and set up as you do. Mounted the light strip behind the hood bulge and ran the wire. I just need to know exactly which wires I tap into for my DRL’s. Don’t want to cut any wire until I know exactly how it should be done. Can you help me out?
