Finally remembered to pay attention to this. My airbag light is backwards: Normally off, then lights up with someone in the passenger seat. I emailed them and they said they're working on it.

Most people are buying them from Phoenix to get the newest unit.

It looks like I'm selling my truck I will be selling the unit I purchased mid last year if you are interested. It's a Phoenix SC7862 with 8gb of ram and 128gb ROM.

Just installed my SC78626G RAM 128G ROM Android 10. I had a previous generation of the Phoenix Android head unit…wow, what an upgrade, and now my dash is completely blacked out! Wish I would have done this sooner!

I do have a few questions for those that have this. Not on Facebook so hopefully someone here can help. Not major issues, and maybe I’m just a DA who can’t search effectively enough on Google!:rofl:Thanks in advance!
    • Do the front door lower speakers only throw out mid-to-low range frequencies? The rear door lower speakers are putting out full range for sure. I’ve never really noticed if the front door lower speakers were mid-to-low range only, so not sure if this is normal, or if I should contact Phoenix.
    • The CAM button…am I correct that if you press it, the only way you can get out is if you press it again; i.e., the home button won’t work while in the CAM app? Also, I have a front camera. Is there a way when you press the CAM button to switch from the rear to the front camera? The only way I’ve seen to access the front camera is to use the Front Camera app. I also noticed a Rear Camera app, but it is garbage vs. pressing the CAM button and viewing the rear camera that way; seems the Rear Camera app is a lower resolution than accessing the rear camera with the CAM button. I did like the Camera app in my older unit, where you could quickly switch between the front and rear cameras.
    • Am I correct in assuming when using Apple Carplay that I also can’t have the head unit connected to my iPhone hotspot via wifi?
    Before:
After, with two different pics of my truck as the “car logo”:

Finally replaced the HU with this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09PTJLRQG?ie=UTF8
Great fit, great quality, very large screen. I will upload some photos of the install very soon. Horrible lack of instructions, but having the previous wire harness, and this: https://pinoutguide.com/Car-Stereo-Toyota-Lexus/Toyota_Tundra_2015_Radio_pinout.shtml I was able to get it working fully with factory connectors. Woohoo!

ok so question out there. Bought one of these(Phoenix SC7862 Android 10 Radio) from a a fellow person on here. It was used but super easy to install. Worked perfect for last couple months with all features working. Just was working fine today. Stopped to pick something up at store and when started truck up again the screen stayed black. Everything seems to work as far as air cond, hazards etc. Its like the screen has shut itself off, no back up camera either. Any ideas on what to check?

I had this same issue happen with my first unit. I pulled the unit out of the dash, and it turned out to be a harness not fully seated. You may want to try that first.

If anyone is interested I have one of these that I would be willing to sell. It is a Phoenix Automotive 13" Android 10 Sc7862 with 6 gigs ram 128 gigs rom with built in carplay and Android auto in matte black. I bought it new back in October of 2022 but didn't get installed till January of 2023 and was only in my truck for about a month and a half before I took it out. I replaced it with a Sony XAV-9500ES. This is basically a like new radio. It does have a very small blemish in the upper right corner of the screen that is only visible when the unit is off otherwise you can't see it and it is strictly cosmetic. It was that way when I got it and it didn't bother me enough to go through the hassle of returning it. It works like it supposed to. Nothing wrong with it. I paid over $800.00 for it but I would let it go for $400.00 + shipping. I have even Tesa taped the wiring harness to keep it all very tidy and neat behind the dash. This is something that all pros do when installing a radio and makes things much neater.

Anyone interested shoot me a PM and I can supply some pics. SOLD

Any one use Apple Car Play Dongle with their Phoenix head unit? Mine work sometimes - sometimes drops out - sometimes crashes the entire unit and I have to re-boot by re-starting the truck.

Is anyone using a sim card instead of your phone's hotspot for connection? If so, how did you go about this? Do I just need to obtain a sim card from Verizon and then activate another line onto my phone plan or is there another/better way to go about it? Is there another option for a dedicated car data plan? Looking forward to installing the 7862 unit this weekend. I just ordered the Maestro ST02 and the SMA male to SMB male connector today to utilize the factory gps antenna. Thanks for any suggestions or input.

Looks like there is. Dang, I just bought one of their Android 10 versions and was looking to sell my old one. Now, it really feels ancient.

Yep. Looks like they've upgraded the unit to Android 12 for 2007-2013 Tundras as well. The new version bezel now has physical buttons vs the 1st gen I bought in 2020 ([ PX6 Six-core ] 13.6" Android 9 Fast boot Vertical Screen Navigation Radio for Toyota Tundra 2007 - 2013_4G RAM 32G ROM Android 9 w/ built-in carplay Android Auto). I'm thinking of buying the new one, but I'd have to sell the other. It's already upgraded with Sergey's firmware. The only issues I've had with it is that sometimes, when using the radio, it'll change stations on its own and when using Youtube, very seldomly, it'll jump to the next item on my playlist. Other than that, the unit looks and sounds great!

FYI, I contacted Sergey yesterday. He has no firmware for Android 12 at the moment. So, upgrading my HU is a no-go for now.

No. His firmware just gives you customizable options and ability to "install APPs from outside sources." For instance, the older Android 9 HU would not allow install of Netflix or Prime Video through the APP store. They had to be installed it via .apk file. I'm not sure if the Android 12 unit will have the same issues.

OK, so, I have a good friend who bought his truck used, it has one of these. If anyone wants it for a straight trade for stock parts, I can likely make it happen. My friend hates it, he's super old school and wants more knobs and less screen. Hit me via DM or something. His isn't pristine but it does seem 100% functional, just maybe some scratches or perhaps just fingerprints on the screen.

Or if anyone has their stock parts from swapping to this guy, I could just buy them off you and do the swap then sell the tablet later.

Anyone have any issues with screen going black randomly? Sometimes when I am driving it just shuts off. If I stop motor but leave key on it always comes back. When It does this I have rebooted it and the screen flashes with the home screen visible for a second. I unplugged battery for 1/2 hour and didnt fix it. Almost like it needs a firmware update or something.
    Suggestions?

Hey all, I need some help. Was looking to install the Phoenix headunit today but a few issues.

I have two connectors from the factory harness left (that look almost identical) and one connector.

What does this blue wire do? It has no where to connect.

There is an extra harness tucked away under the dash from the factory. I assume this is not used

Adding a front camera. Which yellow port do I connect it to?

Do I need to use and why would I hook up the 4g/LTE antenna?

Do they have a video tutorial for your unit? I can't see which you have. That's the best way to figure out what needs to be connected.

But with just two options, I'd just do trial and error. It's normal for some connectors to be unused.

4G/LTE is for cellular. I just use Carplay so my headunit doesn't need connectivity.
