$500 is a good price. I was reading that several others were quoted 6 hrs with a total around $1200

Ditto on that. $500 is peanuts nowadays. A co-worker had his 2010 Sierra's auto transmission line replaced. Just 1 that was leaking . Simple job $630.00.

That's probably the hot tip. The headache and stress of doing it yourself can be more than it's worth.

I guess what sucks mostly is now there doing poor engineering on purpose just so you have to throw your vehicle in the shop and that's what sucks most I think.

They were probably hoping that the vendor they were getting the starters from were selling them a more reliable component so they could get away with this design.

When the starter finally goes, might as well throw on some long tubes. Turn a negative into a positive. You have to pull off one side anyways. Just a random thought.

Well when the other guy moved the starter he broke the signal cable, so they had to order the part.

Shop just got it in, and The Hulk will be running shortly, so tonight I'll be picking him up.

Well just talked to the shop and they said the starter is in, but now there's no power to my fuse block....so now I'm waiting for a call back but right now I'm not quite a happy camper because I think they messed something up and I'm going to refuse to pay for it.

Truck is ready!!!! Woooohooooo!!!!! The issue was I had put new battery terminals and didn't begin to think of them being painted and the paint was causing a power restriction, once they changed it, it started right up.

Well The Hulk is back home with Daddy, plugged in my scan tool and I think the gas I'm running is making the truck run codes so definitely going to put good quality gas and a fuel treatment to see what that does.

Yeah it was saying the truck has a misfire, the truck was running too lean and too rich. I really think it's just the fuel alone.

Definitely going to start putting a better gas in the truck.
