I’m in the process of used car shopping and I’ve always wanted a tundra. I posted the Carfax below, but wanted to get an insight if anyone feels like buying a 2016 with this many miles is not a good idea or what the general life expectancy of this particular tundra is, assuming that the Carfax is clean with no major accidents do y’all think I could expect to get another hundred thousand miles out of this vehicle without any major repairs?

Personally assuming rust free from Texas. I would go for it and expect 150k miles of maintenance.

It's a Tundra. 150k is nothing, if it was well taken care of during those miles.

It's also an FFV. They can have issues with the fuel pump.

If nothing else, I'd plug the VIN into the Toyota owner's website and see what it has to say about the truck.

Maybe check for cam tower leak, but at that mileage it's likely either been fixed or never had the issue.

Seems like it did a lot of highway miles. And was serviced.

Have you seen it in person?

See if they can do it for $25k out the door with taxes and fees.

It'll hold value in the future because it's a pro.

You're getting a lot of truck for the money.

    It should be pretty reliable.

I don't like that it's the flex fuel model. That's the only negative.

    Work on the price

I just did a very similar thing (2015 TRD PRO with ~150k miles)

    Couple of notes

    1. As folks have noted check for leaks, especially around the camshaft and valve cover area, if you don't know what that means take it to a mechanic that does.

    2. I paid a little less than that, so you can probably get them to 25k or less I would imagine, though YMMV in TX obviously

    3. Go onto the Toyota Owners Website and put in the VIN (It does not matter that you don't own this vehicle) and you will be able to download the entire service history at Toyota delearships and even some shops like Discount Tire etc. Mine was invalubable.

    4. Check all the fluid levels and if you buy it I would heavily consider flushing ALL the fluids and getting a baseline so you can make sure you're not losing oil transmission fluid, power steering etc.

    5. Have them check the Rack and Pinion as well if you take it to a mechanic, not often there are problems, but if it needs to be replaced it can be a bear to remove!

My 2012 has 210k and have never had an issue. I’d drive it to Alaska tomorrow with zero concerns

The premise of the OP was if you/we thought it was a bad idea to buy a Tundra with 155k miles.

Nope. It's not. Sure isn't. The OP didn't say it buy I suspects me that he's coming from a GM/FoMoCo/FCA background.

I didn't buy a used Tundra because they hold their value too well. Sure it isn't old and worn out by any means, but the chance of major issues you'll have to pay for still goes up with miles.

Solid truck. As long as it was taken care of, properly maintained, in good physical condition, I don't see why not if it fits your needs for the price. I would agree with @prozac, get closer to 25k OTD.

Miles aren't that big of a concern with Tundras, they aren't your average Chevy, Ford, Ram.
