I really need to get a winch. My bumper looks silly without one.

A lot of options out there. But a lot of us like the Smitty built X 20.

Dude if your truck is that capable in 2WD I can't imagine what it would do with 4WD. I typically shit on rear wheel drive trucks here because of our terrain but that is impressive. I'm excited to see it in person.

I think I’m getting the most. I can out of 2WD without going crazy suspension. I’m really happy with it. That was a bit of a harder landing than I would have today.

Is it just a wire to each battery terminal? Anything else?

There’s the wiring between the solenoid and the winch. That’s only challenging if you remote locate your solenoid but yeah, pretty much a hot and a negative.

I’m guessing your truck would need to relocate the solenoid box, but might be able to keep it close enough to not need to extend any wires, then yeah it’s just running the main power wires to the battery.

Yep. That was the problem I was running into. All the winches are taller than the space allowed in my Brute Force bumper. Maybe I'll see what Black Friday brings.

Look at that Smitty built both Casper and I fit them inside our coastal, off-road bumpers, which may even be tighter than the brute force

I did clock my lever towards the radiator, and Casper left his at 12 o’clock, but trimmed it

definitely have to remote the solenoid, but I managed it without extending cables

Good. Mine is slightly taller. 8 3/4". I'll keep that winch in mind.

My question is if I can fix the spool or do I have to remove and remount the winch? Got it used and already wound. In other words, can it wind either way or only one way?

separately I’ll need help figuring out how to mount the control box.

and I apparently have to buy a driver side mirror still.

Sounds like a remount. Maybe you can reverse polarity, but I don’t think I would try it.

So the control box should be on the passenger side then? Furthest from the battery?

Looks like yes, I will have to R&R the bumper. Bummer.

F me, costly mistake given that I spent 90m R&R'ing the bumper the first time. Sigh.

I didn’t have my winch when I installed my bumper. So I feel your pain I had to do the same.

Embiggened the air hole from about 7/8" to 1-3/8" really slowed the pulsejet grown to more of a pop pop pop.

yea, thats a cactus growing without dirt in that big chunk of trunk.

So, anyone able to help me track down a painted white heated driver side mirror for 2000-2006 Tundra RC/AC?

Man, I am tired. That was 5h at the garage (a bit less). Kinda dark in there, that's one major drawback. My garage has tons o lighting so it's probably the better option. Also no massive need to finish and be driveable, though this garage is quite close and I limped home without the front plate b/c I was outta time and apparently will need to yank all that stuff to redo the winch anyway.

Also, apparently warn's socket bolts are standard rather than metric so I have to deal with that too.

Yeah, that could be a hunt to find something here where I wouldn't catch hell and it was dark enough to make adjustments and mark walls and crap.

Yeah, flat is 1 in 10, they're only flat on the ends. But then you hafta find one dark and low-traffic.
