Brakes grinding

    Okay, since I've got my lift 2 weeks ago, I've been driving normal.. today I had to hit my brakes kinda hard and it grinds.. it's never done it before when I hit the brakes Normal.. only now when I hit them hard?? Anyone with 37's and 22 rims or anything like that ever tried to hit the brakes hard?? What could that mean??

    Grinds like how? Can you describe a sound or feel? Is it the anti-lock brakes kicking in maybe?

    Okay so it stops like normal, but it makes a sound like the brakes are being hit but it's not catgut all the way. Like the brakes are pressed but it's still kinda rolling thru the brakes.. but it still stops good, just the sound. Like the pads aren't stopping it from the grasp

    @ColoradoTJ it sounds like the brakes are working like normal and pressing to close and stop the tire. But the noise see s like the tire can't stop. Like it's breaking thru the grasp of the brake pads, ther fire the sounds it's making?? Does that make any sense?? Could the tire rim combo be to big ?

    That is your anti-lock brakes bud.

    Just remember you added a lot of rolling resistance to your braking system.

    They are doing the job of not locking up the tire.

    I did have something else typed in my last post but deleted it, but since you asked....

    By placing 37" tires and heavy wheels on, you're taxing the brakes pretty good. I would keep a close watch on pad life and check every 15000 miles.

    Ohhh okay.. so it's normal.. thank.. it won't bother me since it doesn't happen when I brake. Only when I slam them.. that's my friend.. greatly appreciated

    Mine does it in the rare instances that I have to brake hard as well and I only have 275/70's. Scared me the first couple times until I read that others had the same issue.
