I have stock size 255/70/18 Michelin tires on ugly steel wheels. The tires still have good life in them so I was curious if I could just use them on new wheels? This would split up the cost of new wheels and tires and give me time to get bilsteins installed in the front. I think the reccomended rim size for these tires goes up to 8.5 but I was hoping to get 18x9 wheels for a wider look especially when I get new tires later on. Thoughts?

You'll be fine. I ran stock tires on new wheels for quite a while before upsizing the tires. 9 inch width should be fine. If we stick only with what is 'recommended', there would not be as many cool vehicles we have on the forum, haha.

Thanks. Follow up question, is a 9 inch wide rim +25 offset going to sit relatively flush or will it stick out? This is a daily driver and I don't plan on fender flares. I'm coming from the Ram world and the offsets here seem way different.

You'll be fine with stock tires on 9 inchers. I'm about to hit 275/70's on 9 inch aftermarkets. Not recommended but countless others on this forum haven't had any problems.

25 offset is perfect if you want them to sit relatively flush with the fenders. You MAY stick out less than half an inch. But I'm sure that doesn't pose a problem at all for you
