How much sag did you see from adding your topper (and drawers)?

    Background:
I have a 2020 DC SR5 TRDOR. I've ordered an ARE fiberglass topper and decked drawers for the truck. 100% stock suspension currently. I'm figuring that will be around 500lbs weight added to the back. I see many people have similar setups here, about how much squat will i see?

I've had many lifted vehicles in the past (Icon and OME kits), i'm really not looking to go down that road again. I like the stock rake for when i am loaded up and/or towing, the truck sits level.

Should i just plan on an add a leaf? Any disadvantage to the RAS system? The truck won't really be doing anything excessive offroad but i'd prefer to not loose capability too. I've have firestone airbags in the past too, again, not the route i'd prefer to go.
If the sag is excessive, i'm almost thinking of just getting an OME leaf pack and calling it good with that figuring it'd get be back to stock rake or just slightly more.

2"CB shackles, bushings and 1 shim, lockerdown console vault, rear folding seat back mod, snugtop shell with opening side windows, 46g fuel tank, SDHQ sliders and hidden winch, Decked Drawers, Alcan leaf springs and got rid of the interior chrome
    Start with what you listed and add;
Tools and stuff in the decked drawers
    Sliders
    46g transferflow tank
    Skids
    Winch
And that’s what I’m adding to my rig. Not 500lb, closer to 1100lb. Icon added leafs were insufficient. I ended up with custom Alcan leaf packs combined with 2” CB shackles for the rear and a couple CB shims up front. My ride is buttery smooth and it has a slight rake until I hitch up a trailer or the boat, then it’s level.
The lift is not really noticeable, it almost looks stock

When I was at ~480 lbs over stock, I was at 1" sag.

Century High-C, bedrug, Deezee rubber bed mat (heavy bastard), and 100ish pounds of tools. Firestone airbags @ 5 PSI w/ daystar cradles has me at the same ride height as a stock unloaded double cab.

My previous experience was an add-a-leaf on a 1993 T100 and a medium duty OME Dakar pack on a 2018 Tacoma. Both rode significantly stiffer over stock unless I was loaded up in excess of my max payload. I've been happiest with keeping the stock leaf springs and Firestone bags on my current Tundra.

People seem to really like the RAS too, and I personally would like to give it a try if my airbags ever give me reason to get rid of them.

With a topper and decked drawers I was also at about 1” of sag. Once I loaded up the drawers it was about 1.25”. If the front suspension is stock, it won’t look like it’s sagging at all; the back will sit a bit lower but still have some rake. If you level the front even an inch or so, you will look leveled or even a tad saggy in the rear even though you are not.

I installed bags around the same time for towing. Eventually, I installed an icon 3 leaf AAL to offset the Bilstein 6112 minimum lift in the front, which allowed me to run less pressure in the bags. My typical load out also increased in weight so I ran 20-25 psi. Now I run 5-10.

Thanks all, as you mentioned i ended up with around 1-1.5" of sag in the rear. Now the rear is only around 1" higher than the front (center of wheel to fender lip is ~22" for the front, ~23" for the rear).

Exploring options for bringing the rear back up, so it isn't saggy when loaded up/towing.

-RAS seems like a popular option here and easy enough to install
-AAL? Many options out there with complaints about all it seems. Some, like the Icon and Deaver AAL options just seem to be there for the lift, not actually helping with the load at all?
-Replace the entire leaf pack? If i could get it back to stock or even a tad higher, i'd be fine. I've had very good luck with OME components in the past, so i've been looking at just throwing on a set to see where that gets me.

I'd rather avoid air bags. I ran them on a few vehicles and never liked the way they rode. Front suspension will remain stock.

I just installed the RAS last week and I have been really happy with the results. Easy install overall and less squat when I hook up my trailer. Also, the unloaded performance is great as well.

Update: I installed RAS HD setup today, used the black (thick) spacer. Raised the back up just shy of 1.5", so i believe back to stock levels (about 2.5" of rake now). Only drove the truck a few miles but i can see why people like it. Easy to install.

I'll put some more miles on it tomorrow and will be towing a small trailer so i can see how it does.

I can say i was surprised how beefy the setup is when i unboxed it. Everything looks quality and larger than i expected from the pics online.

Any update on how that RAS system has been for you? I am adding a topper this week and I need to come up with a solution! Topper plus 3000lb trailer is going to give me that cali lean if I don't figure something out.

I'm curious how the RAS system handles off-road?

No issues at all. I initially set it up with the thick washer. After loading it down for camping and i had a 5x8 utility trailer on the back loaded up, i hit the bump stops a few times when the suspension compressed on large dips in the road. I went back and cranked up the RAS to fit both washers. Got a touch more rake and helped a bit. Rear suspension is not stiff though.
I have another camp trip with similar setup planned for this weekend so will see how it does.

Long term, i'm *this* close to buying a set of the General HD leaf springs to replace my OEM spring pack. I would plan to install the HD spring pack with the RAS but at low tension (thin washer) to see how that rides. I would like a bit stiffer ride in the back, still not looking to lift the truck though. I don't mind the rake though.

I haven't really done any off road, but the RAS seems to have absolutely no negative impact on flex, which is what i feared as well.

Interesting! I'm surprised you bottomed out with the thick washer. Did you get the SD kit or the HD kit? They say 600lb tongue weight or less just get the SD kit, but there will probably be times I have my bed loaded down and my trailer full, so I'm inclined to get the HD even if it is a slight bit too much day to day.
