Supply and demand. I hate to say it but Ford hit the jackpot when they built the Raptor. A LOT of offroad race teams have at least one Raptor to chase with. It's more capable than a stock truck for offroad purposes. It's by no means a Trophy Truck but a truck you have to do very little to to take it offroad. 13" of wheel travel from the factory. I had to buy a Camburg Longtravel kit for my old Tacoma to get that much travel. Then tires, re-gearing it, etc. it adds up. From the factory the Raptor is ready to go. Most owners get an aftermaket bumper and some lights for it and that's it.

You don't need 30K to upgrade your tundra either

Again, supply and demand. The Raptor was cancelled for 2-3 years while it we redesigned. No supply but a high demand. And people have paid that amount.

To be as comparable as the Raptor is offroad, you do. I'm talking suspension long travel kit, fiber glass fenders front and back, wheels and tires, leaf kit in back, engine upgrades, all time camera in front, etc.

The Tundra TRD Pro was an attempt to keep up with the Raptor but it didn't. You can take an SR5, put some King shocks and bigger tires on it for half the price of the price difference between the SR5 and the Pro and have the same truck. You can't do that with the Raptor and F-150. They are 2 different trucks.

That said I'd still take my Tundra over a Raptor. The Tundra will go a million miles. The Raptor...... that has yet to be seen as they all get wrecked or sold.

Some Mods :) See build thread for details
Tundra with tuned kings, rear leaf pack, 37s, 4:88 gears, auburn lsd, mean exhaust and Supercharger = perfection and cheaper than raptor
