Speedo Re-calibration

    2.5" / 1.5" leveling kit ; 275/70/18 BFG AT/KO's
    No - this has nothing to do with a European swimsuit for men....

    I went from 255/70/18's to 275/70/18's, or an increase of about 1" in diameter. Should I have the speedometer re-calibrated to account for this difference? I would like to know that my speedometer is accurate and that my shift points are correct.

    Well you kind of answer your own question in your post...

    Though keep in mind a difference of 5% is acceptable from the factory. You now be more accurate than you were before.

    Compare with gps or mile markers.

    Get the Hypertech Speedometer Calibrator. The higher you are in speed, the greater the speedo will be off.

    Dredging this back up... I know that the Hypertech is the best option, but it's also quite expensive. It seems like I read somewhere that the dealership can recalibrate for tire size. Can anyone tell me if that's true? If so, I'll ask them to do it at my first service visit.
