Shouldn't even need to tap it. Just throw a towel over the head, drill the center at 1/16, then jump up to get your pilot, then run back thru it with a 3/32 or 7/64, then if the leftover isn't backing out, 7/64 or 1/8 and I'll be shocked if the little bit of chaff w/threads on it doesn't come out.

You know you need to make it tall enough for two 18s, right? Then drop a 1500w Hifonics Zeus monoblock amp in each floorboard to power each sub. He'll love it.

I've got a huge sound bar that was free. Not sure what I want to do with it yet. It's just been sitting in my back seat. I kinda like your idea. Except I'd want it hard wired so the blue tooth on the radio could connect to my phone. Would be awesome to have the extra speaker power in the 03. I could mount it along the back wall under the window.

why don't people just build little boxes to bring the footwells up to the already flat under the seat instead of building a big shelf over all of it?

Replaced the broken tailgate handle with the Master Tailgaters backup camera replacement (LOTS of CCP knock-offs of this one, don't buy those). Will wire it up tomorrow and report back.

Dropped the brand-new 16 year-old BFG spare (mounted under the truck valve side up?!?) to air it up and its valve is a bubble-maker, so wasted a lot of time on that.

I seem to remember your sway bar angles looked pretty good for having a lift. Has it been popping or giving you issues?

They've been rattling around in there and loosened up a bit. I'm pretty sure I hear em pop every once in a while. I figured once the AAL goes in and the fronts raised another inch I'll need em.

Meh, even the puns started to go flat after a few.

I've been curious about this for a while so I figure I'll ask, even though I've got my setup ready to go already.

I see there are screws on the back of the camera, I presume holding it in. When removed, does it only pull the lens part circled in blue, or the nodule assembly circled in red? I'd considered getting one, but I'd want to paint-match it since I'm driving a Limited, and everything on the truck is paint-matched.

    upload_2023-3-22_9-29-28.jpg

Interesting to see the '00-'02 spares use a standard rubber stem vs. TPMS sensors. My '06 spare is original also, and is pre-loaded with a TPMS sensor stem.

No TPMS on the OG’s. Probably started with the 03 and up refresh?

@shifty` The picture isn't great to show it and I don't have another one, but the "blue" piece you've circled is where the camera protrudes out of the handle housing, with the rest of the camera being inside (and mounted via those screws that you noticed); the "red" piece is part of the handle housing, so if you're paint-matching it will make this really easy (on the flip side, if your camera ever craps out you'd be looking for one that fits that housing). The Master Tailgaters handle comes with a sticker over the camera/lens/glass that's only sticky on the sides, not the lens itself, which is a nice touch. I also plan to paint mine when I get into painting my cap/topper/camper shell since my other door handles are color-matched.

I don't know what the OEM latch felt like, but the latch handle does feel flimsy, especially on the left side closer to the camera; the right/passenger side of the handle, closer to the mechanism, feels much more sturdy. As long as some meathead doesn't come along and put a ton of pressure with one finger on the far left side, it should be fine. After seeing my broken OEM latch's crusted-over guts, I would also strongly recommend all of you with not-yet-broken-OEM latches open up your tailgate panel and give your tailgate mechanism a good wipe-down and blast it a few times with some dry lubricant.

Also was nice to see the original Rhino liner was applied conscientiously and not sprayed in some key spots.

Oh and to lower the spare I cracked open the pristine kit, if it had ever even been opened I would be shocked. Felt like Indiana Jones with the Holy Grail:
