    I don’t believe it’s a winter issue.

New updated shock leak developed in my case between my BIL installing new wheels in June, and him taking the truck in to get the tires rebalanced in August.

The original “clunking” noise is my case too was not in winter temps either (July).

Remind me again why so many people jumped on the group buy before these things were properly vetted in our trucks?

Terracon has been building good stuff for Jeeps for like 20 + years...they were some of the only Tundra-specific suspension being offered...they have been in the offroad industry for a long time too...not top end and not low end products...frankly, because of their name is why I jumped on... I'm not mad, I was very surprised how easy it was to put on...granted, I bought the right tools that made it easy...

@akmerle , I know it's now your BIL's setup, but what does his new front "replacement " look like now? Same but just new seals or a new shock body altogether? I ask as my replacement was a new/different shock body altogether...

It was the new updated design, not just new seals.

I too went with Falcon and their new offering based off their reputation in the Jeep world, the TFL Rebel running them, and their shock reviews on other half ton platforms…….. and without my current knowledge, given the same research / information prior to purchase, I’d do it again. Just didn’t work out for me in this instance.

Bummer!! Well, all we can do is monitor and keep swapping if needed...for the remainder of the 3 years from initial sale...I have 18 months left! Lame. At least the rears are legit and solid...right?! :spending:

Argh! Welp, both if my front shocks are blown out and leaking... I'm an occasional offroad, pavement warrior...it's lifted 1 setting above stock and that's it. Warranty time and selling new ones that will show up. The squeaking has been atrocious as well...I'm keeping the rear setup as it has performed excellent and predictable for me. Cheers.

**edit, the squeaking seems to have been my LBJs in stock format...I syringed more grease into them and it's near silent... I'm almost happy o_O

I am bummed to see/hear this.
These shocks performance are outstanding. I hate to see folks having issues with them.
Mine have been flawless and my truck sees lots of cold weather.
I do notice they are a bit more stiff in the cold until the oil has time to warm up.
I am at 2 years with mine installed warranty runs out in November.
If they pop out of warranty hopefully they will sell me rebuild kits so I don’t have to send them off.
I did not take that into account when I made my purchase.
If not and rebuild plus shipping is half the cost of Dobinsons I’ll likely switch.

I’m with you, Black. I can’t say enough good things about the shocks other then it now seems to be a waiting game on when they fail. I live in Phoenix area so my time is probably extended but still worried. Does anyone know when you sent your shocks in for repair/rebuild are they using identical parts or do they have a fix with improved parts?

When I sent in my first shock, I was given a completely new shock body that was missing the zerk fitting on the base. It appeared to be the same but better but for me, both have now failed to hold the oil in the shocks. So same shock but different revision.

Don't get me wrong, I really like the shocks of they held together. Great ride quality and feel... just not the same life expectation as the Toyota usually holds.

    Same situation with mine.

The new shock also promptly failed in a couple months. During the summer.

This is wild... I literally don't sell any Tundra kits to folks that live up here in the north as it seems to follow the cold conditions. Still an unfortunate situation for those impacted. Hopefully they continue to work with you guys. If you are having trouble getting a hold of someone I have contacts at Teraflex that I can share.

Terraflex has been great to work with despite the isolated issues with cold weather applications...They currently want me to send in my shocks for replacement or for me to buy new ones to be credited back...If advances have been made on these shocks to better insulate against these leaking issues, I'll gladly continue use of them...I just don't want to continue doing this swap every 12 months. My fingers are crossed to share what they state in potential improvements from the first couple lots...more to come for follow up...

Have you asked them directly what seems to be the cause/issue?

Be interesting to hear their take. As I said earlier, lots of cold freezing weather here, I don’t garage my trucks and it gets driven plenty in ice and snow.
    No issues.

I have asked them several times yesterday and this morning about what is causing this to occur and I am not getting the actual answer to my questions...almost like a deflection of sorts. Granted this is my perception of how they are choosing to respond. I am now able to receive new shocks with a deposit of $203.99 per shock, so totaling $407.98. Once Teraflex receives the leaking shocks and they have been thoroughly checked over to ensure no outside causations caused them to leak, they will credit my deposit. I have had nothing but great luck and communication with Teraflex for this entire adventure so I'm grateful to have the support from them...they have stated though "Do keep in mind once out of warranty you will have to either send in your shocks for repair or purchase new ones if there is another leak after 04/13/2024." So check your shocks for leaks of any sort before the warranty ends this year!!

Again though, no answer to my questions on why this happens or if there has been updated revisions made to deter this from occurring. I hope to get an answer but on my first warranty claim exactly a year ago, they sharded "The Tundra shock issues will be the death of this company" after they laughed saying this on the phone...made me disappointed.

Any updates on the warranty issues?
