Looking for some landscape inspiration, post your pics. Before and after would be awesome.

*landscape, not manscape. No twig and berries need apply.

What are you looking to do?

Throw up a shot of your house and I may be able to put something together.
Or square footage and planting zone.

What part of the world are you in?
My experience lies in the South East.

Old Victorian home. When we bought it, there were box bushes everywhere. Holly and other weird crap growing. We tore everything out and have spent the last 5 years re-landscaping. Put in a floating huge side deck, took bricks from the yard and put in a brick two-track driveway (it was just dirt), and I bought a bunch of antique bricks to make gardens and paths. Also put up a wooden fence and built big arbor out of rebar and cattle fencing. The paths and stepping stones wind around the yard circling the house. Took down the fence pole (it was falling apart) and wired the four pole lights to its light source. Would rather have a pool but the neighbors have so many trees, I would be constantly cleaning it. We get a ton of butterflies and hummingbirds in the summer.

My last home... it's always best to keep tall trees away from the house.

That’s one I did in Meadowbrook, off of Hwy 280 in B’ham.

The ledge slabs are all real stone but the waterfall and surrounding stone is artificial.
Not one piece weighs more than 250lbs.
You can’t tell that it’s artificial until you’re standing on it, feeling it and looking at it closely.
It still serves as a jump rock/ledge.

This my personal. Did it years ago.
    It’s all real stone.
Only about 4 pieces weigh under 250lbs.:muscleflexing:

I've got a slide that needs to go away, I want to use the water that goes to it for the waterfall. Looks good.

Didn't you get the CBI baja Bumper?

That’s a perfect setup for a new waterfall.

    Look into these guys... https://ricorock.com/
if you find something you like, and would like to install it yourself, let me know and I can let you use my company as a go through, so you get contractor pricing.
It’s a pretty straight forward install.

Yes, I did get the CBI Baja. Should be here in February.

Absolutely!!! Moved from AZ to VA, bought a place on 1.3 acres, lots of trees. May of last year a large red oak (approx 70’) decided it wanted to be a house plant. Took out upstairs bedroom, kitchen, deck.
Spent $16k in the last year on tree removal, just finished taking out the “house killers” yesterday. Not a huge fan of trees anymore.
We had about 20 trees taken out, you can’t really tell. But the huge old ones are gone. maybe now the yard might get some sun and not be muddy year round.

yard2.jpg I live in the hot south of Mississippi. Originally from Florida but when it rains here. It's gone rain. And it gets muddy. My last house I had, my yard was about an acre. Overgrown and it overworked me. I miss the birds but not getting tangled in the vines and this little yard is quite a bit to keep up with. I did the mistake of fertilizing it last April and paid for it dearly by having to mow it every single week in the ded heat lol. It gets so hot here that some people will mow their lawns after dark and keep the crickets up. My house here was used as a rental and it took about 6 months to get the lawn to look alive. The dead spot is being treated with nitrogen. Usually when I get the yard done, it rains. That's just how it goes here lol.

Hi Billy. I have a riding mower in the garage that I have yet to repair the spindles on the twin deck. Another project to get to amongst other things to keep busy. I fire it up and it backfires, sounding off like a gunshot in the little suburb village I'm in. I'm from the country and still getting used to this suburban lifestyle of everything being so close and nearby.

Hey there! I totally get it. No one wants to see any twigs and berries in their landscape inspiration. If you're looking for some great design ideas, I suggest checking out landscape designers' portfolios. You can find some really impressive ones online, like, for example, here https://jscustomlandscaping.com. They have a great portfolio of their work, and it might give you some inspiration for your own landscaping project. I'm new on this forum and just trying to be helpful! Can't wait to see your before and after pics!
