After 3 1/2 years of research, shopping and hand wringing we finally ordered a new travel trailer and a new tow vehicle.
After reconfirming the size of the gas tank we finally ordered a 2023 SR5 DC 4X4 TRD Sport in MGM. It’s forecast to arrive in April. Our local dealer swapped allocations of preorders with another dealership. Thank you to everyone who helped us.
We ordered several accessories through the dealership, including; bed mat, TRD running boards, black TRD performance exhaust tip, TRD skid plate and a black tailgate insert badge.
We intend to use the truck as a tow vehicle, also transporting either a canoe or two kayaks, and a daily driver, and keep it for as long as possible.
It’ll be just two adults in the truck. No kids or pets.
We want to protect our investment and add durability and functionality.
Therefore, we’re considering the following, and would appreciate anyone sharing their experience and advice, especially if you live in Canada and can recommend any local suppliers etc. Meanwhile, we fully intend to comb through this entire site to help answer our questions.

    WDH
    PPF
    Rust Protection
    CAT Shield
Truck Cap with roof rack or Tonneau Cover with bed rack
    Mud Flaps
    Floor Mats
    Front Seat Covers
    Rear Seat Cover
    Winter Tires with rims
    Infotainment Screen Protector
Red TRD front grill insert badge
Interior Storage Inserts like those from Muslogy Auto

I live about as close to Canada as you can get without actually being there (Upper MI). I looked for 18" snow tires in the proper size and the only thing I could find was 10 ply.

At one point, most Canadian Toyota dealers would include winter floor mats. Not sure if that's still the case.

For mud flaps, if you really feel you need more than what's on the truck, I would just buy rubber bolt-on ones at Canadian Tire.

When I was shopping, best deal on winter tires and steel wheels was from a dealership but you'll have more options due to having 6 lugs.

Guess you researched the number of these new models that have consumed their crank bearings very prematurely and you have made a just in case plan. If not, you might want to conduct more research prior to taking delivery. Good luck and safe travels!

    Congrats on the order!

I'm in Canada albeit a touch west of you.

For your list of recommendations, I've got the following installed on my truck and am happy with the product:
Tonneau Cover with Bed Rack - I order a RetraxONE XR. I park in a heated garage every night and haven't had any freeze/thaw issues. Went with Yakima bars to mount into the T-Slots for my ski box and other various racks. Really like the system and the cover. You obviously lose a bet of bed space, and I have a shorter bed than you, but it hasn't been an issue for me yet. I had a tri-fold on my last truck and prefer this much more.
CAT Shield - went with Valhalla's Shield. Big reason was no adapter for the hybrid (not an issue for you). Although the initial wait was long, I was prepared for it and the product, price, and flat-rate shipping were good. I believe @Classy63 is now caught up on his backlog too and even has some Gen 3 plates in stock.
Infotainment Screen Protector - went with this one: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B09W46VKGP?ie=UTF8 - I don't know trim specifics but suspect you may not have a 14" screen. Nonetheless, this one has a matte finish which helped with glare and also has way less fingerprint smudges. Fit was good too.

I don't have these, and don't know if they have DC fits yet, but for floor mats you should check out Tuxmat. They're Ontario based and their mats are pretty nice looking in the Straight Pipes videos. I've got all weather floor mats in my truck but also three little kids that love spilling, so I've been eyeing these for better coverage. If they don't have sizes for your truck, you can always have your truck eb the test bed and I think you may get a free set out of it!

That's great that you were able to finally pull the trigger! Did you decide on a trailer yet?

We went with the RCI aluminum full skid plate package with the cat shields but there are others that make a nice cat cover.

I suggest looking at the Diamondback covers. We have one and have bolted our Thule rack to it for the kayaks (2 x 12') and with another bolt on part, I should be able to upright bike racks on as well.

Thanks. We ended up ordering a 2023 Bigfoot 25B25RQ Twin Bed model without the optional front storage box.
