So they lasted long enough and now time for replacement…..
Was recently hearing loud knocks that seemed to be coming from the bed of truck. After further inspection I found this. Body of shock contacting leaf spring and producing knock with every turn, bump or dip.

Truck has Ready Lift Pro Plus 2 with “shock extenders” and I am considering replacing rears with the Fox TRD Pro shocks or going to aftermarket. Fox TRD Pros are running about $650-700 each now but looking at other threads, it sounds like I could get “better” replacements at lower cost.

I’m also not sure what accommodation I need to make in terms of shock “length”.
I would like to ditch the shock “extender” and just go with appropriate size replacement shock.

    I appreciate the feedback……

Oh so they just extended the shock stem! Weird... It looks like either the stem broke down near the body or at the extension. It's kind of hard to tell with everything booted up still.

Either way, your best bet is likely to go with something that will capture that travel. Not sure what your plans are overall as to whether you plan on going with a full front and rear replacement, replacing just the rears, etc but we can definitely help either way.

    Thanks for the reply.

yeah she’s parked right now so haven’t bothered to de-boot. Assuming replacement in order anyway.
plan is to replace the rears now and swap out front coilovers in a few months.
completely pull the ReadyLift and go new at all 4 corners.

Currently looking at Icon 57720P 2.5s, but out of stock everywhere. Price point is where I’d like to be for the rears though.

Mostly highway and occasional dirt road and light trails driving here.

A little late getting to this post but HUUUUUGE PROPS out to Colton and Hotshot Offroad for the save!
Had a TRD Pro rear shock fail with ReadyLift ProPlus 2 shock extenders. No shade being thrown here to ReadyLift, as the kit had served me well and I currently have about 175,000 miles on the truck. The swap was due. Did my research and kept comin back to these Icon 2.5s which were nowhere to be found. Colton reached out to me and said he had a set on the shelf. I said, no way. Hotshot had them at my door within two days and I had them installed on my truck, in my driveway the morning of the SuperBowl. Can’t say enough about the product, which I love. But the customer service and answer to my questions and text messages were top tier!!! I will be ordering replacement Icon coil overs for the front from Hotshot Offroad soon. Thank you Colton!6841A770-94AD-411F-9ADB-E94E96E17F05.jpg FDC57356-CD82-4910-8F40-8AB780B3451F.jpg 9852581B-4096-487A-A539-A9AC97B42EDB.jpg 60F84728-DA4A-41EF-A574-E235B2682D41.jpg 7E56FF2E-3E83-4F3C-AED3-F3EF97642A1E.jpg

How doe the Eibach Pro shocks compare to the TRD PRO stock shocks? I'm only at 80K miles and the fronts still feel fine but the rears are starting to show age.

I’m terms of day to day driving performance they’re in the same class. I have no problem recommending them as a swap from the TRD Pro ones, especially if you get the 2R kit.
