22 Tundra TRD Suspension Lift Kit

Where was that, I'm also in SoCal and looking to get the lift on when I get my truck but damn 10k total!!!

I'm really hoping some other SoCal people can chime in with better prices.

 

This was at Toyota Escondido. Very unhappy with them overall as a dealership.

 

TRD kit with 37x12.50-18" Falken WP AT3s 18x9.0 -0 TE37s. Installed with the help from friends.

 

How much trimming was involved?

 

Any rubbing with those Volks? I heard if you're going with 37s, you need between +12 to +35 offset wheels even with cutting and a cmc.

 

After adding the lift and 35s, this last week I drove out to the WA Coast with the family and back. On the way there, had it in “Normal” mode and got 14.4 MPG, which I had been averaging about 16.4 MPG before the lift and new tires.

On the way back, I decided to try “Eco” mode. SOB was 16.6 MPG.

anyone else try this since getting the lift? I was pretty surprised and honestly hadn’t driven with that setting before having the lift?

 

Driving enjoyment and throttle response has prevented me from using anything other than Sport. My 12.7 mpg is my penance! My tires are identical size and make and this lift height is approximately the same as my 2014 which results in about that same mileage. Disclaimer that's based on truck computer readings, not hand calcs. I'll have to try another setting on a long drive which I don't regularly do.

 

Watch some youtube vids on running 37s. And had to remove the frt air dam, trim the frt inner liner about 6", and took out the crash snuber behind the frt tire.

 

Full lock right only it barely touches the swaybar.

 

Do you have any other pictures showing the lift from different angles? I need someone to post a picture with them beside their Tundra so I can judge the height of the hood.

 

But how will you know how tall the person is?

 

I would hope they would post their height so I could get a ballpark. Maybe someone with the lift and some LT295/60R20s mounted could measure the height of the hood above ground.

 

Has anyone installed the lift kit on a 1794 hybrid??? Has anyone installed the lift kit in a northen virginia dealership?

 

Sounds like you were driving mostly West for the beginning of the trip and then headed back eastward. Driving west will usually be into at least a slight wind.

Averaging those two out though lands you at 15.5 MPG which is not too bad with 35's.

 

Here are a couple more pictures and measurements, though I don't know about the specific tires. Mine are 33x11.5x20
Height from ground to sharkfin = approx. 79"
Height from ground to hood = approx. 57"
Height from ground to bed rail = approx. 58"

I have to say Northpark Toyota in San Antonio did an outstanding job on the install and price overall. It was their first and they will probably bump up their install price on future jobs, but if the part is listed at $3,995 then you should expect to pay close to $2,000 for the install I would guess. Good luck finding a dealer to do it. Two dealerships in the SA area would not do it. One dealer even referred me to a non-Toyota shop to do the TRD lift--the manager at that shop then tried to get me to let him put spacers instead. Good luck.

 

Thanks Maestro!! That’s exactly what I needed. The 295s are just under an inch taller so with your measurements I can decide if I want to go as high as the TRD lift or stick with a spacer lift. I’m in south GA so the biggest mountain I’m climbing is a speed bump or out of a pothole but I still would like the lift.

 

Has anyone in Vancouver, BC area had the TRD lift kit installed locally? If so, were you able to find a dealer to do it? How much did the install cost?

Yeah, 2k is my limit. I only reached out to two local dealers but who i spoke on the phone knew little about the lift. I’ll talk to my local dealer on my 5k visit.

 

Anyone get the TRD suspension installed in North or Central Florida? Dealer in Jacksonville has the kit for $2,550.00 and the best labor/install quote I could find was from Toyota Of Daytona for $2880.00. Gonna see if my dealer in Jax will match pricing. Please advise if you are in this same area and have found a better deal. Thanks!

 

Go to Arlington Toyota in Jax. I have a written estimate from them for $1,380. Which one has the kit for $2,550? I had a chance to see the kit installed at Arlington and spoke with the Service Rep that is “in charge” of installing them. They have installed a few and are willing to tailor the install to your needs, i.e no fog light delete. I wanted the kit installed at Coggin but they won’t budge off of a $2600 install. I even presented the quote from Arlington.

 

Is the Toyota PTCCY-34000 kit compatible with two wheel drive models?

 

No front differential for one.

Thanks, I assumed one would not use the front axle shafts in the kit.

I’m curious about the remaining parts in the kit. The rest of the kit should work correctly?

 

Just ordered the kit and will arrive by Friday - supposedly. Since last time I asked it had a 2 month backordered. If I can’t find a dealer to install it then the first $2,500 takes it lol

My local dealer here in Houston.

 

Last I checked with Sparks they said 3-5 months wait.
