I finally bought my Tundra 3 months ago and I love it, but this Bluetooth issues is driving me crazy. I've seen much older posts talking about it, but I haven't seen anything posted about a fix that I can find. It keeps switching from connected to unconnected, and when it does finally connect, there is no sound. After about 5 min of this, it most times will finally connect. I did the whole disconnect and reset everything, still doesn't work. I called Toyota tech support, and they told me they have never heard of this issue. Anyone come across a solution for this?

So this happened to me the other day aswell.
Have it working though not all features.
When 1st got truckband setup it would auto connect and play when truck was started. Nav screen showed map and music selection info.
All the sudden one day it won't connect and same thing as you.
Went to dealer and no help.
They then finished setting up my Toyota Auto Connect app BS and it finally connected and looked normal after 6 tries.
Next start up no conn, 5 tries connect but no sound...

Ok, so in setting for device I selected Audio & Messages.. not the bottom choice for all 3.
Is doing fine with Auto connect to phone as long as app like Panorama is open.
Have Nav only on the screen, not split with music playing.

    Very frustrating

My phone connects as it should for calls and texts as soon as I start the truck, but it always takes at least 5 minutes to connect to phone for music. I use playlists on Youtube or Pandora, the Toyota screen will show the album cover on the display but then starts saying "connected..disconnected" nonstop. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme nor reason how long it will take, but sooner or later it connects.

    Same here.
    Bluetooth connects instantly for calls.

But for music, once I change the source to my phone , it'll keep going connected/disconnected for several minutes then eventually connects and stays connected. A bit annoying

So my Toyota subscription ran out last week. I'm not too keen on paying $16 a month, seems kind of absurd. On the flip side, I've never been a fan of Android Auto but I'm trying to give it a chance. With that said, music starts instantly when I switch from radio to Pandora. Without some type of work around, I can't use YouTube, as I usually do, to listen to music via Android Auto, but nevertheless there's no lag. With that said, it seems the issue is on the Toyota software side and not Bluetooth in general.

Not really pertaining to this thread, but I will interject after having used it for a few days I'm becoming quite a fan of Android Auto. I like the split screen availability if wanted and also the actual satellite image maps is pretty cool. Seems to solve all the problems I had with the Toyota system as well.

I was under the impression it was going to be at least 3 years. The salesman told me they were working on extending it to eight for platinum and above. It was technically one calendar year, but they started the day the truck arrived on the lot and I didn't get the truck for a month and a half...... So I used it about 10 months.

I had a weird experience with my connectivity. I would get a message on the big screen every few minutes saying that the device was not recognized but the sound kept going. I tried re-adding my iphone but that didn't help.

Most of our use with the truck has been towing our trailer. I have a aftermarket TPMS system that uses a wireless transmitter. It seems that the truck was trying to connect to this TPMS system which I discovered after shutting it off.

So if you have any other wireless devices running they might be causing problems.

I've had the same disconnect/connect BT issues since I've owned this truck for year. Subscription Is now required which I won't do. Im starting to play with android auto but I listen to YT premium which doesn't work well. Can't control volume. Annoying AF and such a disappointment.

There is some kind of bug and its annoying, i have to sometime switch between the android auto and the "regular make calls" and "play music" under managed devices, sometimes this works, sometimes it doesnt. I notice it happens more when I keep the truck running and step away with my phone for a few minutes and it seems like it has problems automatic reconnecting.

On a side note, the Start option on my phone rarely works and the connection always fails, not sure what the issue is, but very frustrating i cant use this feature, but the lock and unlock works with no issus.

Bluetooth sucks in my new 2022 Tundra. It shows my phone is connected and what song is playing, but most the time I get no sound at all. Only works occasionally, so frustrating. My 2019 Tundra used to connect instantly and worked flawlessly. Hopefully they are able to fix it soon.

Using Android auto mine connected as it should., but just Bluetooth was terrible. Toyota saying I had to subscribe turned out great, I would have never tried android auto otherwise. The new version with full screen satellite map is awesome.

So you have to subscribe to for it to work properly? That's messed up

Well, technically, after a year Toyota shuts down your maps and what not if you don't pay. They would probably get a lot more takers if they made it a nominal fee, but they went crazy.

It seems as the "infotainment" large screen is an info- inconvenience, a major distraction! Toyota am I suppose to wait 5minutes before driving so your faulty, glitchy, buggy software decides to connect with your antiquated Bluetooth system?
2024 iForceMax TRD Limited- less than 1k miles!
    - Not to mention all the issues I'm having with the camera system!

2024 Tundra TRD Limited- Yeah, apparently a major, major auto manufacturer like Toyota can't get antiquated Bluetooth technology to work in there $70k+...... Stay classy Toyota.

Legitimate question...why would you use bluetooth instead of wireless CarPlay or Android Auto? Much better audio quality and if you really want to you can use the cable if you ever have issues.
