Awesome!!! Yours would not fit in my garage as mine barely fits. :) Did you get Adv Package and powered running boards/step too? I can quite tell.

Really good looking truck. Is that stock height or did you lift / level it? Do you have the air suspension in the rear?

Is the truck in the low suspension setting in this picture, or the Normal height? I struggled with a rough ride for months until I realized my air suspension was riding too low. Spec for the distance between the bumps stops and the axle are 35-45mm. Mine were both below 30mm and the truck would bang off the bump stops regularly. I adjusted the sensor arms just in front of each air spring, and set the truck to the max setting ( i might even be a few mm over 45...) Night a day difference in the ride.

I'm not trying to start anything or create a situation for you, but if that picture is in the Normal setting, I can tell from here that your air suspension might be set too low...

No worries, I know about the TSB, it is normal height, it is too low, just picked it up Wednesday and haven't had the time to adjust it. We been getting snow and temps to drop to single digit or less starting this weekend. It may be awhile before it gets adjusted. "Take it to a Dealer", yep, could do that too.

Ok good. Glad I'm not instigating anything. I have the identical truck and mine used to look like that...

I took mine to the dealer, they told me people were overreacting about the air suspension, and not to get sucked into the forums and create phantom issues.... I adjusted it myself and it rides like a different truck. Took me several tries to get the adjustment where I wanted it...

Just picked up my new Crapstone (ha) for $3600 off MSRP. No idea what it's like because of the 17 hour round trip day to pick it up, don't even remember the drive back at all. I guess the LCA works well.

So I decided to give it a go and do a test run on the rear bumper, chrome inserts on them. Was fairly easy to remove them. Just have to use a good set of long nose pliers to squeeze on about 6 clips per side to remove the top plastic piece. Then it is only 1 screw per side and 3 push clips.

Once I got them off, I used the 2000 grit sand paper in the kit I got from touchupdirect link you shared.

I set up a little "spray booth in the bathroom at my shop (big fart fan in there) and sprayed a few coats of primer, then color, then clear coat. I had to watch a few videos on how to do it right. I also had to watch a couple videos on how to remove the "dust nibs" that happen.

After that I went to an auto paint supply store here in SD and got a polishing wheel/pad, some 3000 grt san paper and some 3M polishing compound. It only took me about 30 minutes to sand out the few dust nibs I had, then polish them up.

Overall, for never painting any car parts before, it was super easy! Now I'm confident I can paint the mustache on my own. And I like the feeling knowing I did this on my own!

I'll post a picture of them installed once the rain stops! But here are a few of the process along the way!

    Hi Folks,

Taking delivery of a Midnight Black Metallic in a couple weeks. Have read a few posts in various threads indicating this particular paint does not hold up well to surface scratches. I know black overall is not a very forgiving colour for vehicles, but I'm wondering if there are some issues with this particular paint job overall?

Just wanted to get your thoughts and if you have opted for things like PPF/ceramic as a precaution/response to the noted concerns. Cheers.

I plan on using Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Black Spray Wax when I get more “wear.” I looked at some videos and reviews and seems pretty sweet for black vehicles. Yeah black vehicles tend to show dirt and scratches more but I like the look when clean.

    Anybody using this now? https://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Wax-5...59&hvtargid=pla-907928667002&region_id=674469

I'm probably just going to do it...spend the $5k-6k to wrap my truck entirely in PPF that self heals. No scratches...holds up great. Protects your paint. Then have a ceramic coating on top of that! Probably going to go with a satin wrap.

Looks great. Did you swap the mustache or paint it/wrap it flat black? What tires are you running?

I sprayed plastidip on the mustache. Need to touch up because it got nicked where the pieces fit together. Did this when I installed the heritage pro grill.

And I'm running KO2s 275/65r20s on stock suspension at this time.

Well, I made a decision and got a package put together. SunTek 10year warranty PPF on partial front hood/fenders, mirrors, headlights, and rockers/lower doors (i.e. the Winnipeg winter salt and sand package). Then a mid-tier Ceramic-Pro (5year warranty) package that includes wheels and window treatments. I'm extremely happy with the price I was quoted and seemed like a no-brainer for keeping the black shiny and protecting from some of the saltiest and sandiest winter roads on the continent...

I used https://www.paintedoemparts.com/painted-oem-models/tundra - wasn't the cheapest option but the quality is perfect and I'm happy with the outcome.

Not the best angle for a picture, but this was the final result of using the paint kit you mentioned above. It was actually super easy. I just need to buff out the polishing compound a bit more to bring it the shine. Took me 3 days to paint them. I'm pretty confident now that I corks paint the mustache parts and they would look great.

Picked up my 2023 TRD Pro yesterday. It will unfortunately never look this good and clean ever again. Rotator cuff injuries from trying to keep a black truck clean might be in the future tracked back to this date...

Fourth and final iteration of my Tundra! Started out with a LR Limited TRD allocation........
Found a MB 1794 on a lot at another dealer....put a deposit down and when I went to close the deal, they had sold to someone else.
Went back to my original dealer and inquired about any 1794's they had en route......they did not, but had a few Platinums that weren't spoken for.

Put my name on a MGM with only floor mats, but it was a few weeks out. Called to check in and they had this sucker all ready to go after the buyer backed out. Grabbed it that day. Couldn't be happier. Power running boards and AVS......options I didn't know I needed!!

This black is unreal. I dig the blue flakes!
