Thanks for the headlight write up! As a heads up for anyone looking, offroad alliance is over $100 cheaper for the lights as far as I can tell

What’s their out the door price? I think Hotshot with the sale was like $591 with free shipping and no taxes

Oh sweet! Looks like the same pricing. I didn't see hotshots for sale pricing for some weird reason.
Just double checked and hotshot doesn't show the for sale price until they're in your cart. Kind of a weird selling method but oh well!

Haha yeah I don’t think it shows the sale price until it hits the cart

My experiment with EBC yellow pads has come to an end. The stopping power was great, but the amount of dust they generated was insane. This was after remounting the wheels, so some of the dust was wiped off from contact.
    190750BD-90F1-4809-9B75-56FCD406B376.jpg

I bought these back in April and probably put 7k miles on them. They look a little more worn than I was expecting, but I suppose it makes sense with how much dust they put off.
    82CAF81C-721D-4570-91C0-7D83AE08491A.jpg

Anyway, I put new OEM pads back in the front and lubed up all the contact points on the front and rear to deal with squealing from the rear pads. Everything is stopping well and nice and quiet now. However… now I’ve got a shimmy at 70 mph, so I’m guessing I knocked a wheel weight loose or off . I’ll take it to Discount Tire in the morning and see what they find.

I kinda can’t stand aftermarket pads for that reason. :notsure:

My LX was absolutely covered in brake dust under the front end when I bought it (EDIT: it had aftermarket pads). I upgraded the brakes to Tundra brakes and it is all Toyota OEM parts now. So much better now, and it stops on a dime.

I generally think that I would rather go through OEM pads quicker than deal with brake dust.

I got pretty good life out of the original front pads, but figured I’d give EBC a shot. I was told they were dusty, but I underestimated that part lol. Definitely staying the course with OEM for the foreseeable future.

Dude… not only that, instead of using some of that 9” wide barrel, they stacked weights in 2 of the 4 wheels. I’m going to have them redo all 4 I think.

Damnit!!!! Discount is at least better than most, I’ve been there early and watched their pump chants and wanted to be part of it! And seen how the clean studs with a wire wheel, but for sure their weigh system sucks! Sometimes on the 4runner I’d scrap them all off and clean the sticky shit off with WD40 and make them rebalance them all

Our backend is a little... Stupid. It doesn't allow us to just wave our hand and put everything from a brand on "sale" except in your cart. I agree though! We're working on that.

A few quick things - first, swapped out the filament 3157 signal bulbs from my Form headlights. Wasn’t a huge change, but they’re a little brighter now and match up to the DRL better.

Also replaced one of my puddle lights that looks to have gotten water damage. They’re just cheapies off Amazon but seem to work fine. The driver side hasn’t had any issues. If they shit the bed again I’ll get VLEDs or use some Cyclones.

And tonight I knocked out boot swaps on both of my SPC UCA ball joints. The passenger side was trashed and weeping like crazy. The driver side was fine but went ahead and changed that one too.

These are super hot! I would love a super white one. It must be from some time ago because I cannot find it on ToyoMafia's website now (I'm assuming that's where you guys got them). Please help me locate them!

@Coupe makes them! He did a limited run for Tom a while back with the @ToyoMafia branding. He had one left in stock and I snagged it last week. Here's the original group buy post. I'm guessing you're out of luck, unless another cru member has one collecting dust...

Picked up some painted bumper caps that came with Rough Country LED pods. Those were the first to go.
    E401E207-0BB2-4032-B024-EF2A52BA09B9.jpg

They’re chrome caps that were painted, and have some battle scars that needed to be touched up. I used some touch up paint and they look good enough from 10 ft away, especially after adding in some SS3 Sports

They’ve been pretty good all around, especially for all the torture they’ve gotten off road. I want to say I have about 40k miles on them and they’re about due to replacement, but no major road noise or balance issues. My only complaint I’ve ever had with them is flat spotting after they sit for a day or two, but bumping the pressures up a bit helped mitigate that.

Thanks, for over 100 per less over the Cooper AT3s, my cheapness has me thinking about them.

Yeah, it feels like a tire out of balance. Usually goes away after a mile or two though but depends on ambient temp.
