I think it's the same place Alex ordered from, OHC on Ebay. And, I think the stripe is off a hair.

Revesol on Ebay makes one with a red stripe and stitching that's pretty nice and substantially cheaper. I have one of the Revesol ones but I kinda ruined it.

Started shock therapy today. I found it extremely difficult to determine what the shim stacks are in my coil overs. The info available at Poly Performance said I had a 12 20 stack on the compression side. That's .012 thickness for the two largest diameter shims and .020 for the remaining four. In reality I found it's a straight 12 stack.
So what's all this got to do with the price of tea in China??
Well, I'm happy with the rebound so not messing with that stack, BTW, it's a straight .008. I'm happy with slow speed compression (big hits and g-outs). But the high speed, little stuff feels a little harsher than I'd like. The plan is to add two more shims to the compression side between the piston and the first (largest) shim. So, another .012 thick 1.75 dia. shim next to the piston separated from the original stack with a .02 thick .085 dia shim. The idea is allow the first large shim to flex and pass oil more easily. @osidepunker did something similar with his Fox shocks but Fox has a different # system for their shims so this is a bit of shot in the dark...........fingers crossed.shock valving.jpg
    Compression side Rebound side

    .012 1.75
    .020 .085

    .012 1.75 .008 1.75

    .012 1.50 .008 1.50

So, initial impression of the re-valve is that it did exactly what I'd hoped (pure luck) in terms of small, high speed bumps. Now I need to get it in the dirt and check the bigger, slow speed stuff. I'm testing with the bypasses removed and at this point I'm hoping any issues with big stuff can be tuned via the bypasses. I feel this is very unlikely since I really have no clue what I'm doing and it'd be remarkably unusual to dial it in without a lot more re-valving attempts. :fingerscrossed:

What shop did your regear and do you remember the pricing? My truck came with 35's and while it's fine around town, I'd love to have some of the power back when towing/highway.

The place was called Wright's in Salinas and was just under $1,400 to re-gear front, rear and install an ARB locker. They've retired since. There's a place up in the bay area where @Shelbie67 had his done and I think Joon is maybe getting ready to have his done there too. It might be all the way up in Walnut Creek. Lemme know if you want the guy's info or Joon might have it.

Hmm Walnut Creek to SC on a break in schedule sounds fun…haha

Might see if TFR Motorsports on 17th does regears. They seem to do a lot of fabrication and builds. Thanks for the help. Now to decide 4.88 or 5.29. No plans to go bigger than 35’s and want the best driving characteristics.

4.88s would be my choice for 35s. If you get REM polished gears I think you can drive from Walnut Creek home w/o having to stop for a cool down like I did coming back from Salinas. But, lots easier to get 'em done locally. You just wanna be sure they know what they're doing. BTW, I think I met the TFR guys dad. I think he's a plumber and came in to do some work when I was remodeling Malone's bar and grill in Scott's Valley.

That's a great question, I've wondered that myself. If you really want the brace (I highly recommend it for those that drive fast offroad) I'm certain Kyle could make it work.

The brace was my doing, spent a good bit of time and money on it, with the intention making it available to others. Unfortunately shared what I was doing with the wrong person, and that person immediately contacted the fab shop I hired to do the work trying to buy it. Caused problems. I do know if it fits with a supercharger, but you would want one made out of tube. Feel free to dm with questions.

Yours is supposed to clear a supercharger.

Really? He made it fit a supercharger but couldn’t make it fit a flimsy plastic engine cover?

Despite having the SDHQ sensor guards, I broke an ABS wheel sensor in Baja. Joseph from BRM epoxied it back together and surprisingly it held up for the rest of the trip. The Jomax sensor guards look like they afford a little more protection so I decided to upgrade just the rear as that's where the real punishment and rock slinging occurs.
So, here are some comparison photos. BTW, if anyone's looking for some free, gently abused, SDHQ sensor coversJomax vs SDHQ.jpg ByeSDHQ.jpg JomaxJan2023.jpg ......

I was actually just looking at these. We ran into abs sensor issues probably due to hitting all the water and ice at speeds. My current ones seem ok but these look like they offer way more protection. Currently running these https://snsdesigns.biz/products/toyota-abs-sensor-guard

The ones in your link look like they at least offer better protection than my old ones. With the Jomax ones I can't imagine damaging the sensor itself, the wire remains a little vulnerable. Baja is brutal and not breaking down is priceless.

    Hey Warren,
Those sensor guards do look to provide more coverage. Were you able to buy just the rear guards? Where did you order from?
