I plan on getting 5100s all around no lift in the rear and 3rd notch up on stock TRD coils. Will I be able to clear with some trimming 285/75r16 on stock wheels with 1.5in spacers with non aftermarket UCA. My next option would be to get OME 2885 and a AAL in the rear with the 285/75r16 with new UCA if I can avoid that with only using stock coils that would be great let me know.

5100 3rd notch is probably going to be a rough ride judging by input from others, which is 50/50 split on the outcome. Are you cool with a 50% chance of your truck riding like shit?

It's worthwhile at that point to use a lifted spring @ bottom notch on the 5100s for the sake of added comfort. Besides, OEM TRD coils are probably worn out unless you're rolling under 100k miles.

You could save money going with OME 2884 and skipping the AAL in rear, unless you want a solid 2.5" lift, and the truck sitting perfectly level, maybe a tad high in the front until things settle. For new UCA, the Eibach-boxed SPC arms are still running around $600.

Someone mentioned this (I think to you, maybe not?), size is important, the size you reference puts you at 32.8" avg diameter, but which tire you choose plays a factor too. And spacers aren't always the answer to rubbing, they can make rubbing worse or better depending how you go.

will a 2884 fit 285/75 fallen at3ws they do not have aggressive tread and will I even need a UCA for a 2884 that would just level the truck I’m not looking for a lift I may have to put aal in rear either way as I decided to build a camper in the shell the at3w says it’s 32.8 so

    So ...
    • Want to run tires that are basically meaty af compared to stock
    • Not looking for a lift
Sorry, this does not compute for me.

What are you actually trying to achieve here? Meaty ass tires that are going to rip up your body?

What's your actual intent behind meaty tires? Street queen?

If you plan to go offroad and potentially even on-road with tires like that, you're probably going to want at least 2" lift, and potentially need spacers, but I can't see how you'll achieve w/o rubbing up front, on the frame if nowhere else.

Not criticizing, just trying to understand.

FYI, if you want to see what your AC truck will look like with 32.8" tires, ~2.5" front lift, and AAL kit out back, and spacers, look no farther than here:

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/any-regrets-with-285-70-17.113029/#post-2914545

And - just so you know, he's rubbing in certain places even with all that.

Here's some AC truck comparisons on lifts with 2885s etc. so you can compare, just know many are running 17s, not 16s like you're wanting to stick with:

Hopefully after checking those you'll understand why some may be scratching their heads.

Ohhhh ok I was lost I didn’t want a high lift so I guess 2885s and 1.5in aal in rear is the way to go and thanks for the advice on EIbach SPC they are much cheaper. I’ll go ahead and purchase that stuff and spacers and reply I. This thread thanks.

Mine is setup just like OP wants and it rides fine for me anyway, but...

Do this. I would not swap springs from one shock to the other again with such a stiff spring and a rented spring compressor. If I was to level my truck now I'd do 5100's preassembled with the appropriate springs. Not for ride quality mostly just the labor involved.

Seems really subjective, I dunno what to believe. There's a couple of guys here on the 1GT sub who hated their 5100s and are sometimes vocal on these reco threads. I also see complaints about 5100s on the Taco forums, and the 2G/3G forums here too. A couple of complaints for 1GT seem to have a notch commonality, 3rd+, but Bilstein specifically warns about not using certain notch heights for access cab trucks with max notch being 3rd on 1GT AC 4WD like OP is rolling.

Then again, you have guys like @KNABORES who are running 4th notch w/OEM TRD springs, on access cab, and no complaints. But we do have a couple of guys on here who really don't love 5100s and the way they rode. "Too stiff" was the complaint if memory serves. I can't remember exactly who the two specific members are that've been really vocal about not liking the end result with their 5100s, or what cab/drivetrain config they had.
