Thanks! Did you vinyl wrap the rear bumper as well? And then overlays for the emblems?

Just got my Westcott design lift today. It came with some clips. I guess to pin back the wheel well liner. :monocle:

Wow, interesting - I was an early buyer of the kit so cool to see they’ve added these. I couldn’t find anything at Ace that fit quite right so I ended up just trimming the liner just a bit… maybe a 5” diamond shaped section. No more rub!

After a year of running stock TRD OR wheels with Cooper LT275/65R20 tires, decided to go all out.

First, coopers are awesome, not my first cooper set. However, these tires are heavy; significant hit on mpg, power and ride quality. For me, the latter two were major problems.

I decided to go for larger tires, but lighter. Specially, went for Wrangler Territory 315/70R17, which are 9lbs lighter than coopers, wrapped around Methods (MR305 17x8.5 +25mm offset). Total wheel tire package is now about 18-20 lbs lighter per wheel, which is a lot.

wow, ride quality is awesome now, will have to wait to give an opinion on power and mpg..

In 2 months, my King suspension is coming, so front will get 1.2 inch lift.

ps: truck has stock height and suspension. The rear axle has about 400lbs load,my old tires and wheels.Hence it does look relatively level.

According to their website, they still haven't released anything with a useable offset for the Tundra.

I like the look of the 30 or 25mm offsets. To my eye they look right. Lose the tucked in look, but no real poke. That's what I did in my Tacoma, went from +60 stock Sport wheels to +30 TRD Pro wheels. So, does Toyota make any OEM Tundra wheels with that 25 or 30mm offset? I have been through this thread and see some aftermarkets with that. But I'd prefer OEM.

Sorry Im a little late on this subject. Been reading & getting some Great info on this forum. Im looking for some wheels for my 22 Tundra - I have a friend who has some +12 20" Black Rhino Sentinals Ive been wanting to get. I put them on my truck but they seem to have poked a lot more than your pic. What size tire did you install? Have they been chewing up your paint since youve had them on? Thanks for any info!!

I’m sure it has been answered 10000 times but I’m new to the forum and not sure how to search it. I’m picking up a 23 platinum in a couple of weeks and looking to do the westcott 3/1 and a 35 inch tire. What is the best width to go with on the factory 20 inch rim? 12.50?

In short…depending on the brand of tire you may rub on the upper control arms given the 12.5 width of those 35’s you plan to get. It’s a 50/50 proposition and some folks have put a thin spacer to alleviate that condition if they discovered it.

    Your other Options:
Nitto does make a recon grappler I believe that comes in 35 X 11.5

    You can do a 295 /60 or 65/ 20

    You can do a 285 /60 or 65/ 20

Play around here and you can see how they compare to the 35X12.5 or your current factory setup

Thanks. Seems like the 295/65 would be the way to go maybe to retain a true 35 inch tire height and get a little skinnier tire. I assume there aren’t commonly any rubbing issues on a 11.6 inch width? Any other reason that would be a less than desirable option? Also, lastly do you know what the stock tire is on the platinum. I’ve don’t some googling and have come up with different answers. I appreciate the help, I am new to Toyota after a long line of GMCs.

I have 35x11.5 recon grapplers on stock TRD Sport wheels and they fit great. No rubbing and clear the UCAs by about 3/4 of an inch.

Would sincerely appreciate any sort of follow-up on this. About to pull the trigger on the Wescott 3/1 lift for AVS and need to figure out the shoes for the factory Plat wheel. TIA

To play it safe, you could go with 35/11.5/20, 295/60/20 or 295/65/20 with the Westcott lift. 35/12.5s have a good chance of rubbing the UCAs.

Edit: every tire manufacturer has varying specs for these sizes. The best route to go is have the shop who you're getting your tires from test fit them. Out of those 3 sizes listed above, the only one that may rub slightly with the factor platinum wheels is 295/65/20 (depending on manufacturer), but I highly doubt it.

Thanks! We are talking about a 1 inch spacer as well, which Wescott recommended (thinking I had the TRD wheels rather than plat). Would you agree that is necessary?

Only if you're going to go with 35/12.5/20. If I recall correctly, Westcott only recommends a wheel spacer for the 12.5s. I personally don't prefer a wheel spacer for a couple of reasons, so I went with 295/60/20 on stock TRD offroad wheels, which I believe have the same offset as the platinum wheels. I have stock suspension, no lift/level and zero rub. With any lift/level, the 295/65s should be just fine and that is what I would do personally.

I am leaning towards the 295/65s on the stock plat wheels with the Wescott 3/1 lift. I believe the offset is 60 on the stock Plat wheel and 55 on the TRD. Plats are 20x8 and TRD are 20x8.5 per Toyota...

We are looking at the BFG KO2s. Testing may be our best bet.

Don’t know if you are still looking but I wound up going with the 2.5/1 lift from Cornfed Suspensions and a 295/65 Ridge Grappler and it fits great. I definitely would have had to use wheel spacer if I’d gone with a 12.5 inch tire.

will these higher tires also cause the speedometer to read wrong? Will it effect any other systems.

Thanks I am new to the forum as well.

Minor rubbing at full lock. Ordered the Westcott bracket to replace the body mount where it rub’s for more clearance.

    I went with 33x12.50x20 on 20x9+1 offset.

I also installed my Readylift 3"/1.25".

It's barely rubbing when fully turned. I might have to remove the mudflap.

I think my setup is really cool but I lost a bit of power. I can't make the turbo whistles from 1800-2200rpm like I used to with stock tires.

When I look at proper 18" setups, I regret my 17's.
