Interior lights...is it just me, or are there no floor lights?

Am I just missing something? It doesn't seem like you have any floor lights in the front passenger seat or driver seat of my limited? Does that make sense? If there are lights is it that hard to figure out how to turn them on?

I guess so. I've never been in a car that doesn't have some sort of floor lighting even in the basic of most basic cars. It seems odd to me that there wouldn't be any type of light lighting the floor of such a large truck

I’ve never had a car with floor lights at all. I’ve added them to all my cars I’ve owned.

Maybe not floor lights but some kind of light under the dash to give a little light on the floor.

Funny thing is, my old mid 70s model Ford trucks had footwell lighting :p

I couldn’t pin point it but it just seemed really dark in the cabin at night, but it’s totally missing footwell lights. I guess it’s just another $100 I get to spend on a kit once the aftermarket catches up.

My 1794 has the accent lighting, floor is lit up. Basically from window edge down is a blue light emanating from various locations. Fricking fantastic when driving thru the mountains at night. Does not affect your night vision yet the cockpit is low level lit

Have any of you guys that don't have lights, looked into any aftermarket solutions? I wonder if I could order some of the lights from a platinum trim and install?

Yes, the interior lighting sucks other than the ambient lighting looking cool, useless otherwise.

Guess I'm the only one who misses the darkness of 80s and early 90s cars with dim amber instruments in the cluster... Perfect back seat sleeping conditions.

This times 1000. Opened door at night right after I got the truck and was really confused why the footwell lights didn’t turn on, then realized they were actually on. Astounding how bad they are . My 1970 c10 legitimately has better interior lighting.

TRD Air Filters, Front door windows tinted to match the rears. Wheel locks, Talons Garage cat shield, Tyger Automotive soft tonneau cover, WeatherTech floor mats with Tuff Skinz Custom Emblem kit, Toyota OEM Emblem Black Out kit. AVS vent covers on all four doors, Red Tundra letters on front bumper & TRD highlighted in Red on front grille. Tailgate Tundra Letters in Black.
Ya no footwell lights on my Limited.

Not sure why Toyota removed this? My 2017 had a drivers side footwell light and it was an SR5 trim.

Not sure if it was a miss or an actual cost savings but it would have been nice to have it on a $62,000.00 truck.

No, I agree with you 100% while driving, but if I drop something etc, I wish I had the option of having light!

I thought I saw a company that was coming out with replacement units that were plug and play since the LEDs on are the boards now and the entire unit has to be replaced.

now, if I can just remember where I saw that, lol, maybe they are out or soon will be

When I go out in my boat at night I put a towel over the cluster to make it pitch dark.

Lighting has been kicking Toyotas ass for years. The inside of my Tacoma has the bright white/ bluish lighting like a new refrigerator lol And the bulbs in the front are pointed directly into the drivers and passengers eyes so I can’t turn them on while driving

My 2014 SR5 only had the tiny bulb under the driver's dash.

I added my own LEDs and tapped into that circuit..
Surely you could tap into your dome light circuit..

Also added puddle lights to that circuit as well.

I noticed a drivers foot light for first time last night. The * was I was going thru a Christmas lights display and had the highlights off (ie not in auto) for probably the first time. So there is a light down there in my SR5 premium for sure which lights under some specific light settings. Not sure I can duplicate it but definitely saw my boots in the light

My 1794 has them, of course, but I was thinking the same thing. What purpose do footwell lights serve? It seems like such an odd thing to be concerned about.
