I don’t think I want to switch out the tires each season, probably just good a good tire that is well-rounded for my needs plus extra traction for the snow and ice. Maybe studded. Or something else.

I currently run Michelin "X-ICE" year round which is a designated (w/snowflake) winter tire, but is not noisy and has EXCELLENT TRACTION ON ICE. I also agree with "rruf" that a Subaru AWD is MUCH SUPERIOR to a 4x4 Tundra on snow or ice (I drive both).

that would work if the op didnt require a 6.5ft bed. otherwise a 4runner limited would be ideal since its full time 4wd with a torsen center diff that you can lock in high.

otherwise any of the big 3 with auto 4wd would be a better fit for the requirements needed.

if they only want a tundra, any non TRD off road 4wd would be enough for the needs.

    What’s wrong with stock?
You need to go with what you can comfortably afford. It’s easy to be car poor if you’re not careful. Yes all the extras are great but will you use them. I have most if not all the goodies offered for my truck, an SR5 with more technology than I need. It was a bit over what I wanted to pay at 63k msrp but my other truck died and this was all they had in the lot at the time. So I bit the bullet. Luckily it wasn’t much over budget. If you can wait to get that sweet spot between price and accessories then by all means do so. The truck needs to please you, fit your and your family’s needs and allow you financially to live within your means.

Guys, as a follow up…I got my SR5 DC 4x4 w/ TRD Sport and Convenience package for under $50k. I’m happy with my decision . I’m still getting used to parking the thing and those big @ss tow mirrors.

Congrats! Jealous of those “big @ss” tow mirrors. We have a deposit on the same model, except you can’t get it with tow mirrors up here in Canada.
