I agree. I am also very OCD about my vehicles and can't stand error lights or messages. I think I am going to get a small sheet of 1/16 polycarbonate and make a duplicate cover in a thinner material. Prior to this I have never had the clean sensor message except one time when I had snow and ice build up on the front grille.

Here are the pics of my TRD PRO grille centerpiece. Looks good quality…82FCA78D-5113-416C-9C9D-65EBA654A779.jpg A74037B4-E346-42F2-85A4-57EDE36BF2A8.jpg

Just to add my experiences to this... On my '21 I have an early Pro grille w/ the AJT relocation, and it works most of the time. When it finally calls it quits and freaks out is usually with some sort of transition from flat to slightly uphill, at highway speeds, often with a lane change or a slight curve to the road. At this point it goes from just the "clean sensor" to checking out completely and requiring a restart before the radar cruise control/etc is reactivated. This has been especially annoying as much of the driving done with the truck is 6+hrs drives, and it usually happens about 45-90 minutes into the drive. Rain of any intensity also usually triggers the "clean sensor" warning, but that fixes it self shortly thereafter.

With all that being said, it seemed to throw the errors much more frequently for the first month or two it was on the truck and seems to have calmed a bit since then; I'll be putting something in the neighborhood of 8,000 miles on the truck over the next few weeks, so we'll see how many times it throws the error.

Once we're back from the trip the original grille will be going back on the truck, not because I prefer the way it looks, but from what I've seen, the original non-pro grille is the only one that will work with the ARB bumper that should be arriving at the same time (given the extra height of the TSS sensor in the non-pro grille).

Heard back from Jomax and they no longer make the TSS relocation bracket. I have made my own cover out of 1/16 polycarbonate plastic. I will see if it works any better.

Well I drove 200 miles this weekend and had tss error messages most of the time. Not sure what I'm going to do. Either I go with the pre 18 TRD pro grill from toyota already painted for $516 and deal with the occasional TSS error, or I go with the 2019+ TRD pro setup from taco vinyl which is aftermarket and they paint your desired color before they ship for $500. My Tss sensor would then mount in grille like factory. I just have a hard time paying $500 for aftermarket pieces when the OEM stuff is the same price. And it looks like this is new to the market because I can't find any info or reviews on the quality or fitment of the taco vinyl grille.

Did you try again with the stock grille and OEM mounting of the sensor? Might want to make sure the sensor is not damaged.

Just ordered the OEM 2017 TRD PRO grille w/ paint-matched surrounds from Sparks Parts. I will then install the MC Autoparts aftermarket 2021 TRD PRO grille centerpiece in place of the 2017 centerpiece. Shouldn’t have any issues then.

Then just have to buy the paint-matched front bumper end caps.

What did you end up doing to solve the sensor errors?

    Just getting started...
I never got around to fabricating a new cover for it. It comes on and goes off occasionally. I'll try to get to it this spring and post the results.

Isn't polycarbonate just plexiglass that would simulate the glass emblem from the stock grille instead of the plastic that is on the AJT? I'm just confused because when @2020Platinum did his at the bottom of the surround he didn't have these issues.
