    Hello All,
I have a 2" level and 285/75/18 tires. I replaced the "Cylon" grill with the heritage grill on my 2022 Tundra. I am currently getting an error message stating "TSS sensor not calibrated see owners manual" I took my truck to my local Toyota dealer and was told that my TSS sensor is .3" too high and can not be calibrated so they turned off my PCS and radar CC. to clear the message. How can it work with the same tires and level with my old grill and not work with my new grill?
Any answers or suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Hmmm. Something’s not right. TBH I would try a different dealer.

There’s dozens upon dozens of people out there that have lifts and have done the grill swap. Me included. (Knock on wood) I’ve never had my TSS recalibrated not received any calibration errors. I ran a 2” spacer with the grill swap for months and then went to an Icon suspension lift back in November.

Plus…you can still calibrate the sensors with the Toyota OEM 3” lift and 35’s, if I recall the install manual correctly. @ryanwgregg can probably confirm that since he’ll have the technical documentation handy.

I’m not sure what the issue might be but I would point this out to your dealer or try another dealer that has experience with lifts.

Here you go. I found it. TSS and camera recalibration specs from the Toyota lift install documentation. You can lift up to 4” and still be within the range for recalibration.

Thanks, I will try a different dealer.I really began to question the dealer stating that the TSS sensor is too high 4.3" to be exact. I have been on this forum for the past few months and I have seen plenty of Tundras that are well above 4" of lift. They gave me that chart and according the chart with my 2" level and 285 tires I am .1" too high

A “trick” used when installing the Heritage grill in Tacomas with a lift was to put thin washers behind the bottom mounting bolts to aim the sensor downwards a little.
The top screw is left as is to bring the top in tight, creating an angle.
May want to give that a try.

    Do it in place.
Right angled ratcheting screwdriver bit would work.
I can put my hand on the top screw of the TSS sensor and the middle mounting nuts/bolts when reaching through my grill.
    Work smarter, not harder…. :benchpress:

Actually in looking at it, spacers would be needed in the lower mounting bolts to bring the bottom out, and not the top one. Leaving the top one as is would provide the downward tilting.

I came across another option since I just got Falken tires 7 days ago they have a 1000-mile return period.
I could switch them out for 275/75/80 and that would be a 1" height difference, but I love how the 285s look on my truck. Is this option worth it?

That’s not 1” difference, it’s going 34.8” to 34.2” total height so about .3 to radius difference that no one can see by eye. Don’t bother

Changing tires won’t fix the TSS issue. Unhook the battery on the negative for 10mins and see if it will change anything. If the problem occurred after you changed the grill then you need to back track and see what’s going on with the sensor.

Were you able to fix? Just removed the rough country 3.5 and upgraded to the TRD lift. Getting the parking brake error and also the Pcs collision error
