    Hope you are all having a great Tuesday!

    wanted to ask those of you who have made the jump from 2.5 to a 3rd Gen.

    Do you regret getting a 3rd Gen? What makes it stand out from the 2.5 Gen? Do you like the drivetrain better than 2.5? V6TT + 10 speed automatic transmission vs v8 + 6 speed transmission?

    does 3rd Gen have any system for snow where all 4 tires rotate while in slippery roads?

    Review the many posts on the 2022s, lots of info here about them to answer your questions.

    And yes, there have been many different issues reported with 2022, new model teething issues discussed here in many threads, trans, wind noise, sunroof noise, leaks, some software bugs, occasional motor or turbo issues and more. New model issues, hopefully they will get the problems addressed.

    I am looking for anecdotal experience between users who have used both. I have reviewed quite a few of the threads here discussing the issues, I am aware of those.

    I’m just wondering if new owners of 22-23 Tundra’s are happier with this model or if they regret getting it or making the jump.

    Thats what I am saying, many of the 2022 owners had earlier gens and discuss that in the posts. So the info/data you are looking for is already in the various threads, comparing the new to the older gens.

    I went from a 2015 limited to a 2022 SR5. No regrets here. Currently owned it for 9 months and put 11,300 miles on it. I thought it be a downgrade due to lower trim model, but the softex seats and all the PVM camera and driving assist technology in the 2022 that you can get in an SR5, it's an upgrade. I never used the sunroof in the 2.5 gen that's why I didn't feel the need for Limited. I do wish I could of gotten the Premium LED headlight though. But I'll probably be swapping out for some aftermarket later for the black out housing. Plus I wanted the TRD sport for the paint matched fender and mustache.

    The drivetrain is pretty good imo. I thought going from V8 to V6TT, you would feel the turbo lag, but it's not bad. Personally driving the Ford Ecoboost V6 F150 at work, they felt more laggy. But with the 3rd gen drivetrain, I get better gas mileage than previous gen. Most MPG I get out of my 2015 limited was 13.5 city and 15 highway. Currently getting 17.4 mpg city and 21 highway in my 3rd gen.

    The only thing that bothered me so far with this truck is the recalls, being first gen model, taking it back to do recall almost every other month since I gotten it. Luckily I work next door to my dealer, so I drop it off and walk off to work and pick up end of day. Haven't had a recall in awhile, so just enjoying the truck now.

    From what I've read, some who have had issues with their '22 regret making the jump from a 2.5 gen. But I'm not sure I've read of anyone who has a problem-free '22 and regrets it.

    I still don't think that many of these issues would have popped up at all had Toyota debuted the 3rd gen before the pandemic.

    I had a 2020 tundra, and was on vacation in Austin and had my catalytic converters stolen our last day. I traded it for a 2023. I was skeptical, as I was planning on keeping the 2020 for a long time. I have to say I have been very impressed with the new drivetrain. Much more responsive at highway speeds, and extremely quiet on the inside. I liked it so much I am upgrading to a platinum.

    Went from a 2015 DC SR5 2wd to a 2022 DC SR5 4wd.

    Zero regrets, and I loved my old truck. But I wanted 4wd; I loved the looks of ‘22 when they finally started appearing on the lots; and my 2015 had 150k miles on it, so I decided to strike while I could still get plenty of cash for it.

    The 2022 is more powerful and gets better gas mileage, and I love most of the technology upgrades, especially wireless Apple Car Play.

    My ONLY complaint is that the back seat space in the DC is significantly smaller. Not a big deal for me, but if your truck is primarily a people hauler, the CM is your only option with these.

    Yeah, you will be hard pressed to find a 22-23 owners that says they regret switching. Especially after paying MSRP and now that the market is falling. I personally am buying out my lease on my 2020. No way am I paying what they are asking for these trucks.

    I've had a 2014 and 2019, bought both new. Put 101k on the 14 and never needed new brakes. Put 37k on the 19 and only monitored trans temp over 250 on occasion. I now have a 2022 a little over 3 months. I've pulled my enclosed trailer with all 3. The 22 by far seems to do it easier and better due to having peak torque about 1000 rpms or so lower. I'm lighter on the pedal and don't feel like I'm having to push the truck hard to tow. The 19 was shifting frequently to maintain 75-80 towing. Gas mileage towing is only slightly better , (1-3mpg) which is understandable, takes gas to make power. However just the truck, I get 3-6 more mpg. I did pay over MSRP, guess I'm a sucker but I wanted the new truck and didn't want to keep waiting. I've only put a little over 4k miles on the new truck and have only done the parking brake and rear camera recall. Another reason for the new truck was I wanted the longer bed with a CM. Was all in on getting a TRD Sport for the color match. Unfortunately the longer bed is not built with the longer bed. So I ended up getting the TRD OR premium 4x4. If I were to do it again, I would probably get the least optioned out SR5 that has the big screen and PVM. Alot of the OR stuff, I really don't use or need

    This thread is so relevant for what I am researching now. I am weighing getting a used 2019 SR5 DC 4x4 with under 20k miles on it or for about $5k more getting a new 2023 SR5 DC 4x4. Maybe the used car market will be different in a few months and make the choice more clear, but for now based on the “no regrets” comments, it sounds like the 2023 would be a better option.

    Wow…if u can get a 4 year newer truck with the same or even better package, I wouldn’t be thinking twice. Especially for only 5 more. Where I live it’s 15 to 20 more.

    I had a 2014 DC for 5-1/2yrs. Then a 2019 CM for 3-1/2yrs. I now have a 2022 CM LB TRD OR Premium. I have absolutely no regrets in the new truck. Only about 7200miles so far. Pulls my 16' enclosed trailer soooo much better. One reason for upgrading is the bigger bed too. If I could of waited, I would of gotten a less optioned limited with the hybrid. As most of the off road features I'll probably never use.
