    Hi All,

New to the forum so I apologize if this has been already addressed elsewhere (I tried searching for the last hour or so and couldn't find anything).

I purchased a 2023 CrewMax SR5 two weeks ago and am still familiarizing myself with the truck. Yesterday, I finally figured out how to unlock all four doors with keyless entry by holding down the lock and unlock button for 5 seconds on the key fob which I was extremely excited about (since its a feature I have in another vehicle - and a feature i thought was not included on the truck for some odd reason). However, after programming it to unlock all doors, it seems to have gone back to its regular settings of keyless entry only on the driver side door. I had to re-program it again this morning and it worked again, only for the same thing to happen again tonight (going back to the original settings). I was wondering if anyone is experiencing the same thing or if the feature is just a temporary and not permanent one or if maybe I am missing a step in making it permanent. It seems a bit odd that the setting wouldn't stick after changing it.

Overall, I love the truck and have had my eye on it for a while (my first truck, and first Toyota) and happy with the purchase. There are just some minor things that have baffled me thus far (particularly because of what I believe should be "standard" features in a $55k+ purchase (power seats, homelink)).

Again, apologies if this has already been addressed.

I just hit unlock 2x like every other car I have owned with a remote fob.

Usually holding lock or unlock raises or lowers the windows.

    Try hitting unlock button twice?

I am changing the setting in the actual fob. If you hold the lock and unlock key together for 5 seconds and hear I believe two beeps, when you go to use the keyless entry on the drivers side door, it will unlock all doors vs just the driver. But for some reason I can’t make the setting permanent as it defaults back to the original setting of only unlocking the drivers side door a few hours later.

I know you can unlock all doors by pressing the unlock button twice.

My Jeep has keyless entry and unlocks all doors through passenger and drivers side, so I’ve become accustomed to having it unlock all doors, especially when my wife or guests are with me. I’m just trying to find a way to make it permanent.

In my Tacoma I can change it to unlock all doors with one push on the unlock fob. And it stays that way until I manually reset it in the head unit.

    I haven’t messed with my 2.5 tundra.

it was all done under vehicle settings. Or custom setting?

I saw another thread about changing it in the settings in the vehicle, however with the new infotainment system, I can’t really change anything and there isn’t some sort of on-off feature button on the vehicle (that I have discovered yet).

Pretty sure you can’t change it with the FOB. You have to go into settings. I was able to change to all four doors unlock with one push on fob. I was also able to change when the doors auto lock from when you put it in gear to when you hit a certain speed in drive. If my wife or kids get in after I have backed out of garage I don’t have to put it in park to unlock the doors for them. They stay unlocked until I’m going down the road.

You can change it to unlock all 4 doors with one button push or by just grabbing the driver or front passenger door handle. The feature is available in the settings menu on the infotainment screen.

If you hold your hand on the handle for a couple of seconds it will open them all. Not sure I’d want it unlocking all doors every time. Bit of a security risk if all the doors are open when when only one person is getting in. Certainly wouldn’t want that on my wife’s truck.

I never thought of that aspect. My wife has only drove it once (with me) and if she ever needs to take it out, I rather not have all the doors unlock.

I also just tried and held my hand over the door for a couple seconds longer and it worked (initially unlocking drivers, then the rest). I still find it odd though that when I change the setting as mentioned earlier, all four doors unlock instantly and at the same time and then it goes back to the old setting.

Lastly, as for the infotainment tip. I’ve looked and looked and kind find anything. I must be missing something or going too fast or I’m just not seeing what’s right in front of my face.

    Also appreciate all the feedback!

Pages 111 & 112 in the OM talk about it, I can't find where in the head unit options it is but you can also customize it like you want via the settings button on the main head unit.

You can change this setting to unlock all door when you grab the handle. I did it for my grandfather truck cause he hated how it only unlock driver door. I keep it for driver door only for security reasons.

I do not have this sub menu on my 23 Platinum...but was able to change the settings with my key fob. Wonder why vehicle customizations tab is missing...

I found out my issue. Vehicle needs to be running and not in accessory power mode.
