I'm going to try and attach a video I snagged with my phone.

When opening and closing the drivers door there is a popping sound on the part that holds the door in a few detects. The hinges are good, not bent and the door operates perfectly otherwise. The part in question moves a little but when it makes the popping noise. I'll guess at 2 pops per full door opening and closing.

Anyone have experience with this type of issue? Thanks!

mine does the exact same thing lol. its that little black piece between the hinges... mine is cracked.. how I don't know but It is lol. but it pops every single time I open my door. I just haven't had time to fix it. looks like the door panel will have to come off but an otherwise easy fix.

You can try and tighten the bolts that attaches the door check to the door. They are known to loosen and cause the popping. Just don’t tighten them too much or you’ll shear the bolt. Don’t ask me how I know...

Bolts were tight when I looked at them. Tried to loosen and then re-tighten.Unfortunately no success...

This video looks like it does a very good job of showing how to replace the door check stopper on a rear door of a Tundra: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFOS7PCJDUs. It's a $20 part that will take about an hour to change.

Thanks for all of the info. I replaced with the dormant part for $11 on Amazon. No mods required and completed in 15 mins. Here is a picture of the part. Shaft etc the same size so not cutting
