After reading every Sumosprings thread, I'm even more indecisive. Black or Blue is the question! Heard yellow is a nasty ride. Just bought the truck. Stock leafs, shocks are going to be replaced soon, spacer is about 1.5" or so.

That camper shell lives on the rig. Looking at a daily driver weight of 600 - 700lb and camping trips ~1000. Heard great things about both Black and Blue Sumos. Any recommendations out there for my particular setup?

I have yellow and Roadmaster Active Suspension HD kit. You want Roadmaster Active Suspension. You would lose articulation with Sumo springs. I can remove mine and screw on my cut down set if I need articulation, but generally I only heavy haul on asphalt and don't need much articulation.

While I have a 2020 Crew vs your 2003, I would assume my truck is carrying more weight than yours. That could possibly make a difference, but I put black sumo's on mine and am happy with them. I also do most of my driving without additional weight on the truck, I'm fine with the ride in general and love it when carrying a load. YMMV

If you buy directly from them, you can return within 60 days/try another set. I put a set of yellows on mine and consistently carry an extra 1000 plus pounds in the back (work/delivery vehicle) I think it rides great.

Hey there - I'm Adam and I work at SuperSprings International. Based on your photo and the fact that the camper lives on the truck, I would suggest black. Blue is really designed for those with variable loads, where you're loaded up sometimes but mostly unloaded. Black is mid grade, for those with a load but not super heavy. Yellow is for constant load, for those folks pushing the edge of GVWR. Hope that helps. If you have questions, you can call or text me 208-449-9506 or email me adam@superspringsint.com

Do any 3rd gen owners have experience towing a travel trailer with Sumo springs on your truck? If so, how’s the ride with the truck only and with the truck and trailer combo?

@adam weisner. Hi, Adam. When do anticipate producing the rear SumoSprings for the 2022 and 2023 Toyota Tundta? Thanks.

I called SumoSprings International today and the SumoSprings for the 2022+ Tundra are in development. They hope to have more information available by the end of the summer. I’ve signed up for their updates and I’ll post new information as it becomes available.

I talked about my rig (2023 Tundra with 28’ travel trailer @ 7000 lbs loaded) with weight near cargo capacity and how I’d like to reduce the rear end sag. They suggested the blue SumoSprings would likely be the best fit given the truck is only under load when towing the travel trailer.

Also from SSI’s news release: “Effective August 1, 2023, Adam Weisner will be stepping away from his role as President of SuperSprings International, to lead a company within the financial sector as CEO.
