    Hi There,

I just recently added a 3" lift to my 2016 Limited. I love it, however the climb up for my wife is a bit more challenging now. I like the look of the nfab nerf bars with hoop steps but I can't, for the life of me, find any information on if they actually sit lower to the ground than my stock running boards. I know it sounds odd to create ground clearance w/ a lift then turn around and add lower steps but you do what you have to. ;)

My question is if anyone has any information on what types of nerf bars I can add to make the climb up a little easier. I was looking for something like this:

    https://www.amazon.com/N-Fab-HPT0786CC-TX-Podium-Textured-Diameter/dp/B078GMZFBF?crid=1QSG1N6Z32R8A&keywords=nfab+toyota+tundra&qid=1674775278&sprefix=nfab+toyota+tundra%2Caps%2C124&sr=8-11&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.2b70bf2b-6730-4ccf-ab97-eb60747b8daf#customerReviews

But I can't tell if that will help or if I'll be back in the same boat as the stock running boards I already have.

Any help or guidance would be appriciated.

    Thanks!

If you’re not worried about money, look into the Amp Research power step XL model. They drop quite a bit lower than the originals.

I have the nfab steps and they are great. They are rock solid and they have traction cleats built in to them so you don't slip in the rain, mud or snow. I would say you do lose a little ground clearance the way they look on my 2018 Tundra 4X4.

Thanks for the replies. I found a good video finally explaining. The major takeaway was that the nerf with hoop steps give you an additional 1" over the running boards but the AMP power step will give you 6" - 7" extra clearance at a steep $ upgrade. Thanks again for your replies

I’ve been thinking about the power steps for awhile and finally opted to get the extremes as they have two motors per side. I live in Wisconsin and our winter’s suck.

I put the Nfab predator style on my sons truck, factory height and they are high and tight, out of the way but still a decent step to get in the truck.

Good textured step but you almost gotta turn your foot sideways when getting out of the truck.
