Yeah! The factory muffler is roughly the size of my home water heater!

All these other aftermarket mufflers are so much smaller... anyone know why the more free flowing mufflers are so much smaller? Why doesn't the factory use smaller more free flowing mufflers?

I was mostly speaking to the actual diameter of the factory exhaust tubing. It looks like it flows a ton of air. Aftermarket mufflers are going to be smaller because they won't muffle the sound as much, therefore should flow air better but someone else could probably speak to that more highly than me. The only thing that's truly going to free up some power on the exhaust side of things are downpipes with high flowing cats. That's the most restrictive part of the exhaust system.

It's probably a chambered muffler from the factory. Most of these aftermarket options aren't chambered.

I'm getting the optional dual exhaust with my incoming Platinum but unsure how it'll sound in person and prob also gonna request the OEM they take off just in case I don't like the dual exhaust or Toyota Canada let's us have the Platinum Hybrid with a 6.5ft box We'll see how the fake noise sounds in person but worst case for a few months a year in between Winter I got this to tie me over still

I came to the same conclusion. I went deep research mode on some tuners and came to the conclusion the best avenue there is to intercept the Manifold Air Pressure signal between the MAP sensor and the ECU to make the ECU think there is less boost than there really is, which will in turn tell the turbos to increase boost.

Pedal commander helps a bit too, but not as much as the JB4

Anyone find an exhaust that fits the Crew Cab with the 6.5ft bed?

This isn’t the muffler of just any shop. We hand built that muffler from scratch using material twice as thick as the average muffler. Your negative feedback on a product you haven’t seen or heard in person isn’t warranted. Come by my shop and see them built in person, by Americans. It’s not cheap junk built overseas and put on a shelf until you buy it. If you’d like to hand build something better, let’s compete!!

Because restriction style mufflers are the most inexpensive way to pass the federally mandated drive by test.

I gotta say Keith, I’m not a fan of most of the exhausts I’ve heard for this dinky motor on these new trucks , most just sound raspy and 0 throat , which is kinda expected out of a 3.4

but that sounded really nice, controlled, and mellow and I didn’t hear any rasp at all

    we’ll done

    Any dyno numbers yet?

I’m was planning on going stock quiet on this truck since the V8 throat is gone, but maybe this can be a quiet , smooth, controlled option to add more power? Not really into advertising it’s a 3.4 look at me deal

Some of me is still disappointed we didn’t get a 6.2 iforce V8 option so we could get some good ol rumble
