My favorite was when it was constantly asking for it going down a winding 2 lane highway when I needed my navigation. Super safe, hopefully whomever ends up wrecking (because someone will) their truck trying to deal with it does so straight into a prius full of Toyota executives.

Yes I'm still sore about my remote start being subscription

And they make a big deal about the floor mats being secured to the floor too.

Ok, so I paired the phone to my account via Bluetooth and paired my Key to have my account logged in when I start the truck. No need to put my pin anymore and the audio is ready to go with full volume controls.

What I did was to go into Toyota app on my phone and reset pin. Then went to truck and connected put in new pin and said it was successful. Think it worked, find out Saturday. Set in garage to then.

My 14” head unit has all of a sudden starting asking me to put in a pin shortly after start up. Phone is connected and it’s playing music, but when I go into my Bluetooth settings on the phone it shows it’s not connected.

I have the option to reset my pin by putting in my phone number, but doing so only gives an error and back to square one.

Anyone else have this issue and know of a fix?

I had this issue when I bought my truck. I had to delete the user profile and create a new one, and link a keyfob to my account so it never asks for a PIN

Mine has done that once in the 8 months I have owned it. I took a guess and input the PIN I use for everything and it worked. I must have set it up during delivery.

Mine done it a handful of times since Dec when I got it, I just checked and my profile is guest, pretty annoying...

Don't understand why Toyota made this so awkward, my ram had 2 fobs and it saved all the profiles to the key fobs themselves. You could still activate the other profile with either key fob. You didn't need to sign into the infotainment like tundra asks you to

if its asking for a pin and you still have it in guest mode, go into the center stack screen create a profile and set your fob to your profile.

Um pretty sure we all did that, when you put in the pin and it says it's your profile, why do we need to put the pin again and again after it's been setup?

It's like infotainment looses memory, but still knows your profile but can't link it to fob and asks you to verify it via pin again and again then you think it's your profile and check and it's back in guest...

    This is definitely annoying.

I noticed this happens after I use a feature on the app like remote start or door locks.

Just a guess but I am thinking it is confirming it is you and not someone else (nefarious parties) trying to gain access to the truck.

Mine worked perfectly until there was an update that got installed as I was driving. Next time I drove the Tundra it started asking fir a pin. Can't enter it when you are driving so I X'd out of if. It eventually started asking for my email.

I think Toyota needs to rethink the logic in this.

I will try resetting my pin and see if the Tundra asks for it next time I drive it.

check more often, i've put in my pin a few times since Dec, but just checked last week cuz of another thread....

    yup in guest mode again.....

ive said this before, its like the infotainment knows who you are by the keyfob, but looses the memory that is the correct keyfob to profile and wants you to put in pin again over and over

Mine does this whenever I am in an area without internet access. It has done it almost 30 times on one section of a trip. It doesn't go away until you have internet access, even if you enter the proper code. It is related to the worthless drive connect system. Since I am a photographer and am in no internet areas for about 30% of my driving, it has made the info system, android auto mapping, etc. worthless. After talking with Toyota and the dealer numerous times it appears they are unwilling to fix it. They need a software switch to remove or disable the drive connect programs. Unfortunately it cannot be replaced with a different stereo since the oem one is integrated in the cirduitry of the vehicle. 3 custome audio places told me they could only add a second sytem. Kind of like my Porsche with the sunroof controls in the stereo. I have only owned it about 5 months, but I will be putting it up for sale very soon. Can't use the vehicle for what I bought it for. No google mapping, no music, unwilling to fix. Obviously some engineer at Toyota is wrongly assuming we have internet everywhere in this country. Installing untested equipment like this is what destroyed Ford. This will be my last Toyota.

Have you linked your key Fob to your profile? That’s solves a lot of people issue with asking for Pin.

The only time I had it ask for pin was back in April after radio update and when I picked up the truck which is over a year ago.

The truck ask for pin cause it lost connection to a driver profile if you’re connect by your phone, especially when you lose internet. The phone is iffy, it connect profile sometimes or not at start up and if you lose data on phone the infotainment loses profile connection. It goes to guest mode. The Key Fob is fastest connection to profile. If you link the FOB and use the same key. The truck knows which profile to pick that’s assigned to the FOB instead of trying to connect to the phone to figure out which profile to find. Phone connection via Bluetooth is slow.

Lexus was also the first to implement the new infotainment, so it’s been tested before the new Tundra. The 3rd gen Tundra model was first that they used the new infotainment system for Toyota, and all newer models will be getting this infotainment system.

TakiEvo, per Toyota it has nothing to do with your key fob and profile. It is caused by being in an area with no internet service. If their idiotic drive connect cannot connect to the internet it continues the request for pin until it has access to the internet. This is new in several 2023 Toyotas. There are thousands of areas in this country where there is no phone or internet access. It is an admitted bad design by Toyota. They have no plans to fix it. All because Toyota engineers assume there is internet access everywhere. All they need to do is allow people to disable drive connect and the problem would be solved. Less than an hour of programming in a firmware update to create the software switch. It is bad programming to require a pin number on a stereo and worse programming to make the system internet dependent.

Mine truck did it occasionally. When your 1-year free app expires it comes on every time you start it. Had to have the dealer reprogram it. I did not re-up the app.

Mine is a 2023 Tundra with 8K miles. Lately, I’ve been prompted on the monitor to re-enter my pin or to change it. Pressing “Cancel” removes it from the monitor temporarily but it returns. Is there a way to stop this from happening?
