23 Limited. Just crossed 1k miles. Runs fantastic. By far my favorite truck I’ve ever owned or ridden in.

Hahaha. No. I guess I took that the wrong way. I was thinking you were saying the problem would be lurking for thousands of miles until it rears it's ugly head! Maybe I assumed the worst as I've been in a jeep for the last 5 years.

Anybody have turbo failures with 23 models? Seems most of the issues were with early 22 trucks

Just an update on my reduced engine power message. Got through the entire weekend and another 200 miles without the message coming up again.

I’ve seen a few post using a screen saver cover. Looks like a great idea.

mine I bought. I love it. I saw a plastic one on a Pro and it already looked like garbage with all the bubbles.

    1.) Build date: 7/2022
    2.) In service date: 8/16/2022
3.) Mileage and date of failure: 11,100mi, 1/14/2023
4.) Got "Reduced Engine Power Visit Dealer" Message while driving during rainstorm. Pulled off freeway and restarted, and error message went away. I already had a service appointment scheduled for the following Wednesday and asked them to check the error code. They ended up holding onto the truck for a week, replacing the driver's side turbocharger. The service advisor told me that the fault was in the boost sensor, and Toyota directed them to replace the full turbo assembly.

An update tonight - dealer spoke directly with Toyota and after running diagnostics and catching the fault code they instructed the dealer to replace the turbo assembly. Parts a day out, service advisor said it would be a couple days after they receive parts for pick up.

Sounds like the turnaround now is not too bad. You driving your truck or a loaner?

Yes, not that bad. The dealer provided me a loaner - no charge.

Final update - dealer just called and said they were finished. Turbo arrived first thing this am and he said they started work at 830 and finished at 330pm - not really much of a thing really.

Mine is currently at the dealership getting a few things looked at. Blank Cluster Screen, Rattle in Back Glass, and it went into limp mode about a week ago. To be honest it was throwing so many random codes I didn't have time to see what they were as I was in an awkward spot of traffic. Went into limp mode where it would only go around 10mph. Pulled over, started and re-started it a few times and all codes and CEL were gone. That was around 300miles ago. When I took it in they already knew what CEL notices I had received from that night. I'm not sure if this is a faulty Turbo or what. It's still at the dealership. They indicated they were going to try and "re create" the codes somehow. Not sure what to think- 23' TRD PRO

Just a reminder. The dealer is not being "nice" when they provide you a loaner. They are contractually obligated to do it. It's part of Toyota warranty terms. You paid for the loaner when you bought the car. Read your warranty terms, know your rights.

I’ve known about two dozen people that having owned Tundra’s. Not one I’ve talked has been on this site. And I think some are a little embarrassed for over paying on a vehicle for it to end up in the shop.

Somewhat of an update on this. Looks like they are not worried about it being a turbo issue. The text from them read that the code indicated there was "an unexpected operation of the accelerator pedal. We are not sure if its a wire or an ecu that caused that. Toyota directs us on all CEL to be read and then cleared and taken for a test drive."

Build date 9/1/22, currently have 7,500 miles. Got the “Reduced Engine Power,Visit Dealer” yesterday while driving on the highway at about 65mph. I could feel the lack of acceleration, but the message went away after I stopped & let it sit for 2hrs.
What’s ironic is that I was just at a car wash an hour before and I happen to have a scheduled appointment with Toyota this Wednesday for the drivers window air/wind noise fix. Just wondering if there is a correlation with water/rain like @TheManderson??

Will update later this week. Until then, you can find me on the bourbon thread!

I have a 2023 TRD PRO and after only 500 miles I have the dreaded “reduced power” message. The dealer said it was a turbo issue and only wanted to replace the driver side (Toyota only authorized 1 replacement). I asked to replace both, but was denied. They replaced the one turbo. Check engine light came on again (while at dealer) and now they are replacing both Turbos. The designer/engineers from Toyota are going to my dealer to “inspect and repair” my vehicle alongside the mechanics at the dealer. This is Unacceptable for a new truck that costs nearly $100k. I hope they do the right thing and buy it back. I didn’t buy this truck for Toyota to use as their personal guinea pig test model.

Update from dealership. Code #P02351C was found, boost “A” sensor circuit voltage out of range. New bank 1 turbo will be replaced. Item is currently back ordered. Vehicle returned to customer till new turbo arrives.
Good news is that the wife found some Blanton’s for me today!
