-.5 camber
2.8 caster
.15-20 total toe (.07-.10 per side)

This is because I corner faster than most (or should?) and I was noticing a bit of outside edge wear.

If you don't, the other numbers are good.

What's your replacement truck? Or do you not need the towing capability anymore?

 

My heavy bag is still sitting in the corner of my living room waiting for a stand to mount it upon. Could put it on the attic rafters, but I don't want to work out in either 20 or 90 degree weather.

No, I have drywall to punch my hand through for that!

 

It’s thin, cheap drywall. Not that hard to damage.

 

Not entirely sure yet. I now live near a lot more rural roads, so going slower is an option.

I'm going to keep my eyes open for an old 6.9 or 7.3 IDI or 12v Cummins.

I'm wanting something old, simple and mechanical. In the meantime, the Tundra will get me by.

 

Shop doing the alignment called me and said whatever they do might not hold because the control arm bushings are torn. Wishing I would have done it when it was all apart now. Damnation. Told me I could bring it back whenever I got them changed and they will re do it.

I’ve never heard of such a sport. Such an amazing and horrible idea at the same time. Love to see that in the Olympics. Was that a competitive sport or just something the gym teacher made up for rainy days?

 

There were 6-8 of us all about the same age, and i had a trampoline, and both my parents worked, so we'd do that after school. Thats how i learned that you just 'pop' dislocated joints back together.

Bonus was on rainy days we'd coat the trampoline with bargain brand dawn soap.

I'm so thankful i was raised before everyone was soft ninnies.

 

Post some pics of the bushings. Are they the original arms from 2000? My bushings are rough looking but no issues with alignment yet.

 

Will do. Yes, original bushings. Exploring options right now if they end up needing to be replaced. Toyota's pricing is absolutely ridiculous. Would have just bought the entire arm had I known they needed to be replaced.

 

That's what I did recently. Two new arms for around $500.

 

Eating the cost of the arms sucks if your bushings are shot, but it makes things a bit easier if you're replacing a bunch of other front end parts at the same time.

 

That's what's frustrating, I just finished replacing everything on the front end BUT the control arm bushings. Had it all apart already. All the rubber on this rig has been in great shape, surprised to hear these need replaced. Must have been the PS fluid or oil leaks it had that degraded the bushings.

 

For bushings… if you’re not gonna do OEM, I vote poly…. They can be a bit squeaky.

No way! I have not picked it up and got under it yet, but I can tell you with certainty it is not like that. If it will hold an alignment, I'll do nothing for a long time. If it won't, I'll buy a new OEM set of complete arms. After doing some research, pressing them has not worked out for anyone. Even those that used OEM bushings. Think it was @Hi06silver that did the OEM bushings and only got a couple of years out of them. @empty_lord used Napa and they were showing cracks 3 years in.

 

Darkness told me he bent his arm trying to use a bottle jack to press in new bushings. Not even worth attempting in my opinion.

I saw that as well, and he went with beck arnley arms that have worked fine but he was not impressed with them. He said the left and right were made by different manufacturers!

 

This is true, but I've already got a long travel truck in the fleet. This will be my old mans truck and spend most of its time pounding the pavement. When he gets to the point he no longer drives it, I plan on making her a little more trail ready. Hate to have too much lift though, as our truck bed height beats the brakes off a modern F150. So easy to load and unload. Not to mention we are a little longer than 5.5. Not that I'm measuring.

I did! Like you had mentioned I was a bit worried because it seemed to good to be true. It has a tiny dent on the driver's rear and some rust up by the windshield. Also a poor patch job on the rear hatch. But that's all I could find on a 25 year old car. I've only driven it to my friend's house to put it in the garage until I can install the cat protector. I'm definitely not risking that.

I did check out some stuff over there and the upgradeitis got really strong so I had to stop. It went from stereo upgrade, to HID's, to lift and tires, to full skid plates. I really wanted these, but can't justify a 1/4 of the cost of the car.



I'd love to see the guy who stole my cats get these out!
