Craftsman, Husky, Ryobi, Dewalt, Skil, Evolution & Wen. I trust these brands.

I think some on here would be surprised to hear who builds the Milwaukee tools, and who builds the Ryobi tools. (spoiler alert, same company).

It's ok, Gollum. Toyota builds both the LandCruiser and Tundra engines too, and people here agree that they are not made with the same parts, nor to the same specs.

 

Think we landed on the Lexus 3.4 and the Toyota version being different spec, but the Land Cruiser and Tundra sharing the same Toyota spec.

Worked for Stanley Black & Decker for several years. That's how I managed to stock up on Dewalt and Porter tools (w/a nice discount).

Depended on the item. Last item I purchased was a Dewalt pressure washer that was going for around $900 retail I got for around $500.

 

My hat is off to you. Our son (now 28) has special needs so we know the world very well. It takes a special person with a special heart to work in the field.

 

It ain't easy that's for sure. In a time when teachers are in short supply, SpEd teachers are the needles in the haystack.

 

They put the crappy employees in the Ryobi department though.

 

Have some friends who work for TTI. MKE, while under the same umbrella, does operate independently for the most part (including their design teams).

 

I love my ryobi crap. Batteries last a long time. I don’t have to plan to charge them to do a project. They just work. I’ve got a mix of brushless and non brushless motors. Someone could punch me in the head with the difference between the two and I still wouldn’t know it. Again I’m a weekend warrior. I don’t work with them, but they work when I need them to.

While I don't use them for work, I do use my Ryobi stuff a lot. I've got a ton of them, some so old that they are the old blue color ones. They all still work great, all use the new lithium batteries (even the old blue ones), and I abuse them pretty hard sometimes. I recently switched my lawn stuff like my old dying gas mower over to the 40v Ryobi stuff and have been happy with those too.
Can't beat that for longevity especially considering the price compared to other brands.
