Does anyone know why very few aftermarket bed mat manufacturers aren’t building mats for 2022-23 bed mats?

I couldn’t find the rubber mat that I’ve had in my previous trucks so, I ended up buying recycled material carpeted mat.. purchased from realtruck.com. Haven’t received it yet…

My dad has a Toyota bed mat on his Tacoma, its meh. I use Livestock stall mats and cut to shape. They are super strong and difficult to destroy.

I've run the Toyota OEM rubber bed mat on both my Tacoma and my Tundra. No complaints here, and hard to beat for the money. You can order them from your Toyota dealer or have one shipped.

I ordered the mat for the Tundra from Sparks Toyota www.sparksparts.com since I'm out in the sticks. On top of that my dealer won't sell any parts under MSRP.. So online it is!

PT318-34221 Tundra Bed Mat -Standard Bed $138.00

Wow, I just checked the price and it is also showing $174. My invoice at $135 (prior to tax & shipping) was from only 4 months ago! I ordered a ton of stuff that day so i'm not sure exactly what the shipping cost would have been for the mat alone. Between the mustache, grille, steps, and bed mat, the shipping quote was over $100. No surprise there. Still much less expensive than buying them at my local dealer :/

Use this site Toyota Parts and Accessories - Official Online Store and search using part number. You can choose which dealerships carry those parts and select the cheapest one you can find. Use code FREESHIP to get free shipping. I bought around 2k worth of parts from dash cam, running boards, bed mat and bed step.

I did that, all local dealers didn’t have that much of a discount….
It was later through this site after I had ordered one that I found the Texas one with much better pricing on everything.
Oh well, it is installed now.

I actually like the BedRug or similar carpet types better than rubber. Tonneaus are never 100% dry and the carpet gives you a little air gap in the event there is some moisture present. These aren't for anyone who hauls loose dirt, sand or mulch, however. Yes, they can easily be removed and hosed down, but that kind of stuff would probably get embedded.

I received the bed rug yesterday…disappointed because it’s so light..(probably weighs less than 5 lbs) I’m going to send it back

That's sort of the point. The carpet fiber pile is mostly air which keeps your stuff dry if a little moisture gets in the bed. And it makes it very easy to remove and clean. Doesn't mean that it is delicate, I have had one in my Tacoma for years and it is in great condition. My use case is mostly lumber, drywall, coolers, luggage, bicycles, kayaks, etc.. with an occasional riding lawnmore engine or pile of gravel. But if your use case includes really heavy metal stuff with sharp edges, a dense rubber mat would probably be better.

With moisture always present to some degree, doesn’t the bed rug smell moldy?

No, at least with my Tacoma with the retract tonneau, that mostly lets a little water in at the tailgate. The mat is all synthetic and doesn't absorb a lot of water. so it dries out quickly.

I have the BedRug and I love it. I had it with my last 3 tundras. Even though you get a little water in the bed at times, it does not cause problems. The bedrug does not absorb water and the way it is designed underneath allows water to move to the bed drains. I have never had a problem with mold or odor. It's also super easy to remove and reinstall.

I can't find an OEM mat, a Black Armour mat, or a Gator mat that is available. Toyota dealer quotes a "stop sale" status on the OEM mat, and retailers say the other two are "currently unavailable". I'd really like to find the Black Armour one, but would settle for an OEM or Gator one. Anyone know what the problem is behind the unavailability?
