Just hit 1750 miles and noticed the front tires wearing heavy on outside edge. Took a tread gauge to measure and already down to just over 7 with inside edge at 9. Parked it on flat and you definitely see the camber is set positive.

Not much info out on this and did print the tech tip. Running stock Pro Suspension, wheels and tires.

For sure needs adjustment......any thoughts from those who already travelled this road?

I recently started similar thread due to same issue. Someone posted the alignment specs that show the Pro has a different alignment than the other models.

Booked an alignment appointment online with my local dealer for 1/23. The more I thought about it, I wanted to make sure I wasn’t wasting my time with the dealer, (still a possibility), so I stopped by the dealer yesterday to meet with Service Manager.

Explained the issue, as well as the visual positive camber. He said we have a 12 month 12,000 mile alignment warranty for 1 free alignment in this period. He moved my appointment up a few hours so they’d have plenty of time to correct.

Hope to have positive results for update next week.

Thanks for sharing all this. I did feel my TRD pro also has strange road habits, but wasn't sure if it was new tires/vehicle or the road radar stuff. Depending on tire wear I may take it in

Sitting at Toyota now for alignment check. First thing they do is run it through the electronic check at the curtesy bay. Three times through and no reading????? Everyone is scratching there heads. Take them out and old school lesson. Look at the front tires-camber is off. Now look closely at edges. Outside edge noticeably more wear then inside edge. No cupping......might be Camber? Off to the rack and I'll keep everyone up to date

I’ve taken my truck to dealer couple time for oil change and recall. I always watching the screen where it tells you if your alignment out. My truck comes up as a RAV4.
I never trust that machine anyways. Need to be on alignment rack and have the sensor mounted correctly.

I use to work at a different shop that had quick check alignment. It was easy for the techs manipulate the sensor to show the reading are off so they can get to sell an alignment. Shady asf.

So Service Advisor comes back and starts conversation, we don't have specifics on alignment, but have the TTS. What we see from this is your alignment is in spec. So I ask to explain why outside edge noticeably worn at 1800 miles. Well, you know how that went.

So off to Service Manager. He pulls in senior Maintenance person who drops bomb.....Toyota Toe Specs they have are not correct for the TRD Pro. It's on the rack again with the Senior Maintenance Tech working on it.........I will ask for final adjustment read-out.

Subscribed. I am about to take mine back a second time. Outside edges are half what the rest of tire is at 7k miles.

Thats where I got my truck. I had couple issue with service advisor and the manager there about the wiper issue I had that eventually got fixed. Had to take it back 3 times. Only reason I take it there cause I work next door at enterprise and I can walk to work after dropping off in morning.

Anyone know the alignment specs Westcott suggested after installing their Pro Lift? I know they are post lift figures but it would be nice to compare with the printout from Toyota linked above.

Have the truck back. Nasty wet and cold rain today so didn't spend too much time looking at it. That said, here is where we are after looking at it and driving to work
    1. Front wheels appear visually aligned without the incline noted before
    2. Steering wheel is centered
    3. Quick Ride and it does track better

This weekend, will rotate the Front to Rear and track tread depth/wear with micrometer. Attached is the final invoice work sheet and alignment sheets.

My alignment was corrected today. Very happy with the way it drives now. Bold specs were out of tolerance.

    Before
    Caster L- 3.75 R- 3.56
    Camber- L- .83 R- .62
    Toe- L- .35 R- .29 Total- .64

    After
    Caster L- 3.68 R- 3.76
    Camber L- .78 R- .64
    Toe- L- .17 R- .17 Total- .34

I am glad I caught this thread. I picked up my 23 TRD PRO with noticeable wear on the outside tread of the front tires and started down the road of figuring out why. Only 3k miles on it and worn tires??? At first I was upset thinking that they were hot rodding the new truck that I bought but after some research figured out that A. These TRD's are known for the front alignment being very challenging to keep in check (which is not an excuse that I will stand for and still want answers), and B. The specs are still not totally right in the system. One dealership said they could not even pull up the real time numbers because the hunter machine had not been updated yet...Not wanting to drive on a jacked up alignment and being irritated that my tires were already wearing, I bought 35' BF K0@ and then I took it to Firestone because they offer free lifetime alignments and I wanted a second opinion. Well, they did not have their machines (hunter) updated either and still no updates since yesterday. So someone is slacking getting these numbers/specs update or there is something going on on Toyotas side. By the way I am missing a lot of details in the middle of all this that I put effort into but trying to get to the point... I ended up taking it back to another (3rd) local Toyota dealership and they were able to (at least they said they had access) pull up the current specs which apparently had been updated by hunter. Either that or the alignment tech is a wizard and running some aftermarket software that was able to see real time numbers. After he got it up there I got behind the wheel to make sure it was straight and watched him pull the TOE way back in from what Firestone had tried to Kentucky windage. The drive feels perfect not although I am not still fully satisfied that this fixed the original issue. Simply because it came from Toyota that way and for a brand new truck is NOT a standard I think anyone wants to set never mind Toyota. So I am keeping an eye on it and will rotate these AT's at least every 5k. Hopefully that helps shed some light on an issue that is very real and needs to be addressed by Toyota if it keeps happening. I still am going to take it back to Firestone once they "update" their system. NOT to align it, but to check what was done at Toyota to make sure it's at least close to this new spec no one seems to have and that I have been chasing down.

Does anyone have updated specs on alignment or what other shops have done to reduce outside tire wear? I dont want to waste my time going to back to toyota if they're stuck on saying the original specs are correct.

I do not have them yet, but plan on cross referencing what they are putting out at Firestone and then at Toyota. They are both using hunter machines so I am guessing they will be the same. I am also going to ask when they got the updated data. It not come out that long ago so I am curious to see if its different than what Toyota last did. The truck is running straight and smooth

Mine was way out as well, 4k miles and was wondering why the outside of the tires were wearing like they were. I took mine to a local custom tire shop and had them do it. I didn't feel like dealing with the dealership.

Same with my 23 sequoia, hunters don't have those specs either yet
We shot the alignment anyway to see where it was at, and it wasn't too bad so we didn't mess with it

Hi All, I have a 2023 Tundra TRD Pro and on my passenger side front tire the outside has extensive wear it’s only at 8k miles, this also has been in Toyota once for this same issue. The first instance the tire was worn on the outside to where you could see the netting. They called the manufacturer and got a new tire sent and said they would do an alignment. I figured everything would be fine after that. But now I’m noticing the same tire is wearing again. Anyone else have this happen?

Yes, tons of people with Pros have this issue. Too much toe and positive camber from factory.

My stock truck smoked the stock tires in 6,000 miles. Literally no tread left on the outside fronts. Had an alignment at 1,300 and a second at 6,700. Toyota now says they want my truck back to research the issue and give me a rental, as Toyota is aware of the alignment issues causing premature tire wear. We'll see how that goes.

I have no idea why this is so difficult for Toyota. They seem to have aligned trucks with poor specs and really poor adherence to any spec really. Mine came with 0 degrees toe left and 0.2 degrees TOE OUT on the right, along with .32 degrees positive camber on left and 1 degree POSITIVE camber on the right. As you might imagine my right front with lots of toe out and positive camber got chewed up quickly.

I read about Toyota's inability to fix the issue and went straight to my local 4x4 shop. Their 2023 Tundra TRD Pro specs were not available from Hunter (alignment equipment company) as I expected and we decided to just try 0.1 degrees toe in in front and got positive camber down to 0.15 degrees each side. I asked for the least positive camber as they could get, so not sure if numbers were limited by the stock upper control arms, or just where they stopped. Caster started at 3.3 per side and ended at 2.6 per side in round numbers.

Makes you wonder if the 2024 change to TRD Upper Control Arms is from them needing more adjustability?

There are 18 different Tundra alignment specs depending on vehicle height. Vehicle height depends on tires size, suspension mods, etc...

From what I've researched, vehicle height is the distance between the center of the axle and the center of the lower control arm bolt.

Here are Toyota's alignment specs. As you can see, they vary significantly depending on vehicle height. If I were having alignment problems, I would bring this information to the service manager and demand they record the measured vehicle height and align the truck to the corresponding spec.

    Update:

Just received word from Toyota and they are replacing all four tires. Very happy with this. With this, hopefully the alignment issues are solved with latest settings.

Thanks as this is the second time my truck has the same wear on the same tire. I just don't want to be jerked around by the dealer, I am going to screen shot some of these posts to show the service department and demand they fix it and get me a new tire since all the other tires have no wear on them just the front passenger side. I am also going to demand them to record the alignment and also make sure this is fixed once and for all. I do not want to be going back there for a third time to fix this issue again. This is obviously their issue not the customers. Wish me luck!

How did it go? I've taken my tundra in to several different dealers and they all say the same thing: no issue.

Gonna finally push to fix it this Thursday. Any tips from anyone?
