I think I have to steer clear of it in my local climate. I’d be surprised if it makes a huge difference, but I’d love to hear about it if someone did some testing.

Same reason I never did it, living in CO. And I'm too lazy to do and then undo the same mod every year lol

Could always get some extra hose, 2 Y or Tee fittings and 2 ball valves and open and close the bypass as the weather changes. Actually would be pretty easy.

I'm in Phoenix & have done it to every car I have had, it's supposed to freeze tomorrow through.

The hose clamp is holding the pump to the basket? If so, did you make a cut for it to exit/return inside the basket?

I did that as soon as I got the truck. I’ve never had any issues. Even like 2 years ago when Texas had that crazy cold weather and half the state lost power and water because it was 0 degrees or below zero degrees for two weeks straight, it didn’t have any issues.

3d printed Stillen 4.5" Air intake adapter came in. The 4.5" side is pretty thin though. Could definitely make it thicker. Will probably snap if too much pressure to the hose clamp is applied. Everything else looks and feels good, though! it's something to work with.

Yes, that's how the URD instructions say to do it, cut some slits and zip tie the pump to the side. Mine is the same way. A bit janky but no issue with two pumps now and a few years.

That's a solid price. I paid $3500 from a forum member for the main assembly with no miles on it and no kit parts.

The intercooler can be had through Toyota for $750

Edit:. Looks like you'd also have to buy the intercooler pump, hose kit, wiring kit, and a few brackets. All that is gonna run another $500ish if I remember correctly. Would also want to know how many miles, and I'd that's a scratch or crack on the bottom.

Edit edit: and the fuel pump. Can't really tell what's wrapped up in the back left

All that plus the fear it's in need of a rebuild is why it's not in my garage (along with a ton of other parts)

    lol

I did the TB coolant bypass when I installed my Harrop. Not sure if it helped any, but one Sat morning when it was in the teens here, I hit the interstate going to the exhaust shop for some work. About 35 minutes at 85-90 mph and when I get off the interstate and head up the mountain it starts bogging. Won't go unless I give it more than half throttle. I got over the hill and stopped, checked it out under the hood. Nothing was loose or strange looking so i limped it another 3-4 miles to the shop. Left an hour later expecting problems but it was fine. Never has done it again. I think the blade must have been sticking, but have no proof. The TB sitting up high, it probably gets cold with a lot of air moving through the engine bay. Stop and go driving it probably would never matter, but who knows? I still have the TB bypassed.

Screenshotting this for the front page or editing later. But at a minimum besides the main assembly, these are parts I've had to.buy from Toyota for the TRD assembly. Doesn't include any of the things I've upgraded separately.

question... I have a 2008 Tundra with forged internals and (rebuilt)TRD SC. I'm getting ready to to add xat harmonic balancer and a fuel system. I've tried to contact Dustin @ DAP tuning in TX but the phone number is disconnected and no return email. That is who I wanted to do it. So.. I'm looking for suggestions who can tune factory ECM without a engine management system to achieve upper 800 lower 900s in hp with my set up.

I got a response the beginning of the month from DAP on adjusting my tune for my larger intake, but haven’t heard back again since. He does great work but the customer service is just painful. If I don’t hear back I’ll be reaching out to my local OTT tuner as well. They seem like the next best remote tuning option as long as @ViktorG is out of the game for the time being.

I tried getting him also since I live there but couldn’t ever get a hold of him. He finally responded to my email after OTT was already working with me. Is prospeed wanting you to buy their motec?

Let us know how it goes. I’m currently looking for a tuner and can’t believe how difficult it is to get someone to reply.

TBH, OTT has been a little slow to respond as well. I've been working with them for the last few weeks to get my tune started. From time I used their online form, to getting contract worked for me to sign was about three weeks. And I haven't gotten my invoice to pay them yet either, let alone start on the tune. BUUT, they now have the only tuner I've personally worked with in the past, and he is super active on the Tacomaworld forums. I have nothing but positive things to say about his tuning abilities and knowledge (Justin aka @JustDSM on tacomaworld)

I feel honored... he emailed me within a couple hours... I found a Prospeed Automotive in NJ, but I think I am going to try working with OTT first.
