I just called my dealer to order the kit. In addition to them saying the kits may be on backorder, I inquired about the fog lights. He had the instructions in front of him and read the statement from Toyota about the requirement to turn them off per state law. I live in Louisiana. Below is directly from the lift kit instuctions. Man, I really hate to lose my fog lights!!

CAUTION: With the TRD Lift Kit installed, the OE fog lights will no longer comply with most US State lighting regulations for fog light height position. The OE fog lights must be disabled & removed to comply with these US States’ lighting regulations for on-road usage (at the time of writing these instructions): AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, ID, IN, KS, LA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MT, ND, NM, NV, OH, OR, SC, TX, WA, WV

It's funny because I am pretty sure that red truck Toyota used for their official TRD lift kit advertisement still had fog lights on them lol

They cant keep them, you already paid for them.
Just install them back yourself, its very easy.

You have to negotiate with your dealer. If this dealer won't let you keep your foglights, find another one who will. See my post here, I provided specific instructions and made 100% sure those were to be followed. Good luck! Don't let them take your fog lights. You paid for them. They have no right to remove them.
Another option is buying the kit and having it installed elsewhere. But you will lose your warranty. You can also develop an awesome suspension system buying parts from this kit and mixing and matching. See the many glorious threads about this! Tons of amazing ideas in the TRD lift thread, and the suspension mega thread.

This is what I did, and they said "Ok, we won't touch them". I am in WA state BTW.

Funny thing is, they did not adjust my headlights at all, which were COMPLETELY BLINDING to 90% of cars on the road. The fog lights to me do not pose a safety hazard. Their beam pattern and aiming at least on mine are a non-issue. I did have to adjust my headlights down a pretty good bit so I wasn't causing a true safety issue and blinding on-coming traffic

I am also in WA, and my dealership called to ask me if I still wanted my fog lights. Of course I said yes, and I used to have a very similar set of pink license plate frames.

Nice! What did they charge you for the install? I had quite the runaround with them, so curious on your experience.

Sounds like the same issue as the Tacoma lift kit.

Mine was the first install of the TRD lift they had done. Autonation charged me $1182. I dropped it off on Monday afternoon and picked it up Wednesday afternoon. Parker Toyota quoted me $2100 not including the alignment, I think.
