I'm a long time Newegg shopper. Before Amazon, it was Newegg and Tiger Direct for all my PC hardware needs. I still check their sales out from time to time because every now and then they'll have something on sale I can't pass up.

Case (no pun intended) in point, I saw an open box deal on a white PC case and jumped on it. Figured I would swap my kiddo's black case for a white one. Anyway, the box arrived and I was sure the case was damaged. Sure enough:

I put it back in the box and immediately got on the app to report a damaged item. Within 24 hours, they processed a full refund inc shipping and didn't care to have the case back. After that was handled, I decided to see if the panel could be gently bent back into shape.

Looks OK to me. Free case ftw!

I'm picky about how I buy on Newegg now, they're another Amazon copycat with their "marketplace" so you gotta be sure you're ordering from them, not a third party.

I don't care for the marketplace thing, I miss the good old days there where I could just build my old AMD Athalon XP 3200+ based system and overclock it with good cooling, and worry more about my memory frequencies than whether or not I'd get genuine parts from Newegg or some shill vendor from overseas.

I agree with OP about Newegg's customer service, but ONLY if you pay attention to @MedCityMoto and ensure that you are buying directly from Newegg and not some 3rd party. They are always my first goto for tech stuff. CDW can have competitive pricing but they cater more to enterprise and business customers.
