Looking to put locking gas door on the Tundra in BLACK.
Does anybody already have one and which one would you recommend?
    Any pictures?

    Thanks in advance.

Why a locking gas door and not just a locking gas cap? Those are cheap and readily available.

I got an AMI door on my truck. I went with a chrome one because they didn't have white. I made a video for the installation.

I had the lockable cap and I didn't like it. It was a pain to lock and unlock.

Gotcha, just curious. My kids were asking me about it the other day, why some cars have a switch inside and my truck doesn't. I had to give them a history lesson on the price of gas and what siphoning was...lol.

Hah, I didn't realize this was you. This is the video that made me switch to the AMI door from another locking door manufacturer. Nice job!

Thanks. Glad to be able to help. :D I've been thinking of adding a lock on the original door. I'll get to it one of these days.

    More than a few.....
I heard alot of people say that no matter what aftermarket gas cap you buy, it will eventually give you a CEL. I too am interestd in the locking door, but cannot for the life of me find one that isnt black or chrome. I want it to match my superwhite.....

Think someone needs to design a better skid plate/under truck cover to keep those thieves out.

Have a two part kit: locking gas door and under truck cover/plate

And then Toyota designs that into all their future trucks...until they are all full electric which seems to be the endgame for all manufacturers

Get a black one and have it painted or powder coated.

Wasn’t even thinking about that...will check with my local powdercoater to see if doable with what I have. I would prefer a paint matched door as well.

Some locking caps cause CEL codes. I have tried a couple. No luck yet. Lucky me, scan guage makes it a breeze to clear.

I can vouch for AMI; I had a locking gas door on my Superduty. No drilling required, just had to punch out a couple rubber stops. The lock worked in freezing/wet Alaska winter and the build quality was great—very heavy.
As with any lock, it’s not going to stop a thief, but it will keep honest people honest…

Estimated to ship directly from the manufacturer on 06/03/21

I called the manufacturer yesterday and they said delivery was 2 months out.
No one I can find on the entire WWW has these in stock...

eBay sellers are selling them 'made to order' with an expected arrival in 30 business days with a 14 day handling time.
    That is 2 months..

Hopefully yours will arrive when promised.

Just found the manufacturer of the locking fuel door is no longer in business - guess that explains why I can't find one anywhere

Consider yourself $50+ ahead. I have one and the hinge could be popped with a butter knife.

Has there been any suitable replacement, lockable and no drill install, since AMI went out of business?

You can do a locking cap, I had one for awhile but after the lock freezing one winter i took it off, too much if a hassle.
